Replying To royaldunne:  "What is everyone obsession with who is captain? Graham is and will be captain next day out too. So please give it a rest, after obc Andy will make HIS decision, if it's not to be graham, btw did everyone see at end of ft he came out applauding the lads had slaps on backs for all them and was the one along with Andy getting the free takers organised. Anyway if it's not graham for league (which no one knows) then it will be Micky burke that is a fact. Anyone thinking Gallagher is off the mark as he won't be keeper for league."
RD another one of your 'facts' proved to be incorrect. Bryan Menton is the new Meath captain and not Stoney as you alluded to. Less of the spoofing in future.

Meath vs Kildare 5th February - 8 Like(s)
Well that was an absolutely terrible performance from Meath today. We made Kildare look like All-Ireland contenders at times. Maybe it wasnt all Micko's fault after sll, the players need to take a long hard look at themselves after this setback. Do you still see us competing in Division 1 after this performance RoyalDunne - its nigh time you took off thos green and gold cloured blinkers

Replying To royaldunne:  "Some people need to get over themselves. He went over to remestrate with the red after the trip was ignored. And he was robbed of at least another ten mins extra time. Bloody disgrace. Andy has taken dogs abuse from some so called Meath fans. He was bloody right and if many could have got out of stand Andy would have been least of the Rossies worries."
Talk about a sore loser. Looked very bad both O'Sullivan and Glynn having to restrain Andy, Meath had a great chance in normal time to win but sadly we didn't have the cuteness or know how to get over the line. It's been a shocking year for the Meath senior and while there were some positives tonight the reality is we lost again.

Replying To royaldunne:  "But now one of the only genuine contenders to dubs is Galway. And we beat them in league."
As has been proved numerous times over the years - the NFL and SFC are totally different and form is very hard to carry over, in the norm, from one to the other. Expect Mayo to defeat Galway in Castlebar next month.

Replying To royaldunne:  "Would any of them started against longford? Maybe Tobin. ? But"
Rooney should have been a shoe in to start but Andy doesn't seem to rate him. His performance for Skryne last weekend and for Meath on many's an occasion have proved he's the undisputed top midfielder in the county.

Agendas - 7 Like(s)

Replying To royaldunne:  "Why do so many people have agendas. This place use to be for the purest among us, that lived and breathed Meath football, I'd argue night and day (well until 10p.m) with people of different viewpoints, and some times heatedly, (ask jinxie, Ziggy, loyaltoroyal etc) but despite our differing views we always knew that we had no agendas or axe to grind, our motives were pure. Those days are gone , the anti manager agendas and the man not in job a wet week are pathetic and leave a very sour taste in the mouth, they are some blatent ones an some opaque, but the agenda is always the same, undermining management and in turn undermining Meath football. Sad times"
Undermining management? Pot, kettle....

Meath are not releasing their starting team until 20minutes before throw-in tonight. Very bad form and shows a complete lack of respect to us travelling fans.

Replying To royaldunne:  "Agreed. The one thing that has improved massively is the goalkeeper. Por might not like to hear that. But it's the truth."
Your personal agenda against Paddy is clear for all to see. He gave excellent service to the green and gold for the best part of 10 years and represented his province and country with distinction also. A bit of respect wouldn't go astray. Have a listen to his podcast with Meath Chronicle's Fergal Lynch lately, a superb interview.

Replying To royaldunne:  "Yeah. Remain in doc 2 and have decent championship then there is the possibility of a decent year. A good run in qualifiers could even see us sneak a super 8 position (ok looking unlikely at moment) . But all that matters now is beating Down, nothing else matters"
To say a Super 8 spot is unlikely is the understatement of the year. We're so far away from the top 8 it's actually frightening. This year, with the exception of one of two games, has been a huge disappountment thus far. However, I do expect us to defeat both Down and Louth and preserve our D2 status for another year. Huge pressure on Andy Mc if we were to go down.

Replying To royaldunne:  "Well a they are more competitive from the start. And not to make you a short answer but the proof of the pudding is in the eating as they say. Look at more field, garrycastle lomans what they do in Leinster after a competitive championship in their respective competitions."
Again you're spoofing. It's plain to see you havent a clue. The Kildare clue championships have been completely revamped this year as club's voted for immediate change due a completely meaningless championship.

Replying To Brownepat:  "Fair play royal Dunne it was something I noticed and it did amaze me. I am not trying in any way to big up something that is not possible to big up or saying we were unlucky or anything like that but just something I noticed"
I acknowledge your post but the sad reality is Meath were well and truly beaten out the gate by Cavan this year. A five point defeat actually flattered us somewhat in the end. Andy and the lads have huge work to put in before the trip up to Pearse Park. This will be, potentially, a very tricky game.

Replying To royaldunne:  "Look you got your undeserved win. Take it and move along. As for pt? Well since it was likely last championship game there before our new 40,000 all seater stadium is built I think the old girl did us proud, particularly the best playing surface in country. She bowed out with grace and winning, but like the Meath team, we won but we didn't. And I've been to Omagh, let's just say you are not in any position to criticize navan. Hon the royal."
Take your beating like a man and move on RD. Your posts are making a mokery of all Meath fans. The game is over, unfortunately we lost and we can now focus on U17/U20's this year.

Funny enough none of the colgan, keoghan McGill burke/lavin j mcentee power s mcentee menton Kennelly/Flanagan ,O'Sullivan Brennan Reilly lenihane McMahon j wallace e wallace didn't walk. Perhaps those who did weren't happy with been subs. It certainly looks that way. It's there to be seen."
It's time you took off those green and gold blinkers and realised Meath are going nowhere under McEntee. In fact we have gone backwards unfortunately

Admitedly yes the pitch and wind were both factors but to score three points in over 40minutes against one of the worst teams in the country is very poor.

What you heard was totally wrong yet again. Where do you hear such nonsense about the 'big wigs' from BNM having the 'final say'.

The players might go 'through a wall' for Andy but results this year have been nothing short of terrible. The majority of league performances were poor and that woeful display in Pearse Park rightly leave a lot of fans questioning the management setup.

Meath V Longford - 6 Like(s)

Replying To Furlong1949:  "Well done to longford well deserved win. Meath, well I would say and I know we are all very disappointed. Im sick with disappointment to the pit of my stomach. But it was always going to be this way. We are years behind the top teams. McEntee needs to be given two more years. We will probaly have Forde Mckeever Jones Rooney O Coilean back in next 2 years and some of the underage players will come through. Try to get into div 1 next year. The fact is Dwyer Boylan and McGee had nightmare results in their first 3 years. Boylan hammered by laois , Dwyer walks away frm kildare and McGee losing first round match to div 4 team all in third year in charge. Walsh had hammerings in year 2 v Tipp and year 3 with Rossies. Gilroy had record defeats v kerry in year 1 and Meath in year 2. This part of the course. I know i know this is a gut wrenching sickening feeling to the guts. Criticize the management the team say negative things. You are entitled to be angry and furious. You are right to feel this way. But I plead for the sake of Meath football no knee jerk reactions. As long as McEntee is given another 2 years that is the only chance we have of digging ourselves out of this mess. Armagh gave McGeeney 4 years and he hasnt won 1 single match in Ulster and spent 3 of the last 4 years in division 3. We have to give McEntee the same timescale. If after year 4 the same results then he goes. Use the next two years to develop an sucessor. Someone like Geraghty should be charge of the under 20s. Again this is bad result in our history. The same as as louth in 75, Wexford 81, Longford 82, Laois 85, Dublin 95, Fermanagh in 03 and 04 , Cavan in 05, Wexford in 06 and 08, limerick in 08, Dublin 14, Westmeath and Derry in 15. The train will leave the station again next year. We arent as bad as we are today. There is light at the end of the tunnell. I believe we are 12 to 24 months away were we want to be. Thats just my opinion I could be right I could be wrong. We are all hugely disappointed. And you are right to criticise and be angry. But I would plead with Meath supporters that gettin McEntee out aint going to help us in the long run and I believe if he goes this year we more then likely follow the path of laois and Derry to div 4. Thats just my opinion. Thats all. It is a bad bad day for Meath football. Hugely disappointed. But well done to longford. The better team won."
Parts of your post are very strange indeed. Can I ask what has McEntee done in the job so far to warrant another two years in charge?

Replying To royaldunne:  "I dont want to get into.this again. But the only way mod was treated badly was by ever been appointed. He had 4 years in that job and its probably fair enough to say he brought them.backwards on each consecutive year. Culminating in the lowest ever point in Meath football and loosing to Westmeath for first time in 130 years.
To say he was treated badly, and Andy McEntee should be fired for not havin more omahoneys lads on team. No one in their right mind could agree with his sentiments, he was purely putting his club ahead of county"
Yet again, you never answered a question put to you. And please just let the whole MOD thing go, everyone is sick and tired of you talking about him at this stage.
