bobkarlgees.......Indeed we have weaknesses a plenty, but so have Derry. Maybe i am dreaming because i believe Andy has this one sussed. More direct football .attention to breaking ball as suggested with some of his selections where speed is a strenght and being used .Toher at midfield may prove a surprise packet with fielding ability and physical presence. As you say half back line weak, but with Donal K playing nearer chb ,and Menton going forward at speed which is his strenght rather than fielding ability ,Plan b would see Menton switching to 2 AND DONAL TO 9. Sheridan as target man on trial for first have must have direct ball quickly with support..Our half forward line looks good now, and capable of tracking back. Freetaker ???? I assume this has been given attention as required Lenihan and whoever. Oh god i think thats the alarm clock....time to go to Navan !! nobull456 (Meath) - Posts: 1227 - 11/02/2017 20:16:39 1954848 Link 0 |
Kinda look at that team and think do we have enough to win ? Seen Willie Carry a couple of times and can't see why he is starting 2moro!! Brian Power back at 6 really?? Was he not taken off last week ?? Surely we have better than mickey Burke ? James Toher I know nothing about him so cant say much!! I would have left Forde in half back line ! Biggie is a huge loss!! I would hope our wing half forwards drop back a little! Maybe Downey to play as 3rd midfielder or sweeper which I like giving space to Brian and lenihan grahamc9897 (Meath) - Posts: 1174 - 11/02/2017 20:23:41 1954850 Link 7 |
I agree with alot of that I cant remember Power contributing positively nearly anytime I seen him. Maybe Andy thinks he has magic wand or something Carry I have never seen.

The loss of Harry Rooney is just massive. I think we underestimating it actually. I don't think we can find a short term replacement this year. bobkarlgees (Meath) - Posts: 1263 - 11/02/2017 21:17:23 1954877 Link 0 |
I hope we scrape over the line 2moro! Only thing is Derry are there for the taking though

I think we have what looks like a good enough front 4 as I reckon Downey will sweep. I am not convinced Sheridan will play as he has not the pace for two man full forward line. I think Kevin Ross may start instead numberedjerseys (USA) - Posts: 348 - 12/02/2017 08:54:56 1955000 Link 0 |
Huge loss , leader, main threat for scores from play, but it was a no win situation, and if I am honest I think it's right decision, Derry would have double upped on him and hit hard, could easily have got injured, after what happened in Louth game , it wasn't worth the risk. We have O'Sullivan who will no doubt take up his roll, but he needs to be protected and with runners off each shoulder, forde will do likewise, my worry is if forde gets some of the treatment biggie gets forde will be on sideline and other guy well we can guess, Here is wishing management and team all the best today. We need to get a win to get back on track. Hon the royal royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 12/02/2017 09:08:24 1955004 Link 0 |
Andy needed to make changes and he has. Still think por should be played outfield we have no one at midfield and no target man up front .I hope slot of work went in to shoring up the center of our defence and ball into forwards was terrible first half against kildare .good luck to team today and rap up well it's freezing outside. I'm going to brave the cold it's a pity we can't convert goodwill to skill if we could neath would be back at the top on the royal matthematx (Meath) - Posts: 177 - 12/02/2017 10:14:29 1955030 Link 0 |

Just arrived here in Pairc Tailteann, €27 in for myself and my daughter. €12 for a student, absolutely scandalous. Was cheaper into croker last night to see 2 All Ireland champions. And people wonder why no one watches the Hurlers? Where is the money going? Last double header I'll be going to see. Meathgaa5 (Meath) - Posts: 339 - 12/02/2017 13:45:43 1955143 Link 0 |
