Jack starts on Sunday so it looks as though at the very least he's the second choice goalie. jackhackett (Meath) - Posts: 773 - 02/02/2017 23:17:40 1951383 Link 0 |
Exactly.

Haha good man - nothing like a bit of nostalgia of a Friday...begorrah I'd take Gerry Mc at midfield on Sunday too and sure has anyone a number for Trevor? We'll throw him a plate of chicken and chips in The County Club afterwards for his efforts....maybe even a glass of mi-wadi too if he manages to split the Cill Dara defence for a GG special at the hospital end - post match helicopter TBC...yet to see if Devenish's pockets are as deep as Kepaks! Meanwhile great to see that Andy has been reading the threads and is listening to the voice of the supporter. Hannigan and O'Rourke are the goalkeepers - here's hoping for a productive couple of months and a promotion push. An Mhí abú The_Ripper (Meath) - Posts: 180 - 03/02/2017 08:51:42 1951421 Link 0 |
What talk ? All the talk is about a win and how will the team perform, when Joe came on against Louth we were a laughing stock! The cut of him coming on,! He deserves better being a great service to Meath Will you stop with this master stroke stuff! Its ridiculous! grahamc9897 (Meath) - Posts: 1174 - 03/02/2017 21:07:12 1951684 Link 7 |

So The secrets out!! Dublin should recall Jason sherlock mayo ciaran McDonald Kerry Maurice Fitzgerald and Tyrone peter canavan ! Everyone will be talking about it in the county and the other players will be playing out of their skin because no one will be talking about them grahamc9897 (Meath) - Posts: 1174 - 04/02/2017 08:27:21 1951734 Link 5 |
Because it's been proven. How much talk has been around team? Very little, all about Joe. Look when you wrong just admit it and move on, don't try to say something is black when it's clearly white. Master stroke. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 04/02/2017 17:11:43 1951837 Link 0 |
Royaldunne, Usually a master stroke is lauded in hindsight. You are calling it a masterstroke for the sake of calling it a master stroke - prematurely Royalio11 (Meath) - Posts: 757 - 04/02/2017 20:17:55 1951884 Link 1 |
Not sure what logic you're using to make this out as Joe being back is a a masterstoke but it's not making any sense. We've not kicked a ball in the league yet so nothing Andy has done can be defined as a masterstroke. If we happen to win promotion and Joe plays a role in that then you can honestly call it a masterstroke but until then it can only be described as a puzzling move. The theory of it being a masterstroke is only because it suits your personal agenda of making Andy a saint. Nothing would please me more from a Meath point of view than us becoming a force once more under the Dunboyne man and I wish him all the best in trying to achieve that but really and truly your argument makes absolutely no sense. In reality Joe is not named on the panel for tomorrow and will more likely be playing for his club instead. jackhackett (Meath) - Posts: 773 - 04/02/2017 20:19:26 1951885 Link 2 |
Can you please tell us how the return of Joe is a masterstroke? It's a puzzling move by Andy to say the least RoylerKing (Meath) - Posts: 809 - 04/02/2017 20:54:34 1951894 Link 4 |
RoyalDunne have a look at the comments above ! Not one other person is calling it a masterstroke! I know your too deep into this to admit your mistake ! Its a strange decision and only por and hannigan will play this year !

And Joe won't be named as keeper or sub keeper apart fromaybe one game. The master stroke I have explained at length many times. So I'll give you the short version. By bringing back Joe Andy has taken all the attention off all other players, no media attention, many of these players showed a lack of composure under mod due to been talked about on social media or regular media, all the talk is of Joe. Leaving Andy to be able to build a mental steel into flakey players and let them go on about their business. In other words a master stroke. Joe will never play in goals for Meath and even if hannigan and paddy were injured burlingham would be brought in. So let me be clear it's not the keeping ability of Joe that's a master stroke , it's the deflectling of attention away from the team. So it has worked. Regardless of a ball been kicked , it has served its purpose, not a saint yet. But he is on way to beatification, he even has some Meath people not getting his reason royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 04/02/2017 21:06:41 1951903 Link 0 |
Read my above post to explain to those who were a little slow on the uptake of how it was a master stroke. Again I never said Joe will play, he won't if por hannigan were out Robbie would be brought in. It's got to do with taking attention of actual team. What baffles me is how some meath people can't see this. Master stroke . I can't but it in any simpler terms for people to understand. Look theres no point arguing with this guy..,He's obviously passionate as we all are about out county ! Your wrong simple as ,I'm done with this thead ! Hopefully a win will keep us all happy grahamc9897 (Meath) - Posts: 1174 - 04/02/2017 21:25:25 1951912 Link 6 |
I think we share the same practical logic. We are passionate about Meath but understand the limitations. Other "good men" have too much time to think and result in incomprehensible garbage. POR, although has his faults provide's a goal mouth presence. He can't be held responsible for kickouts if the policy of the team is to go long and midfield get schooled by the opposition. Hannigan for me is choice No.2 on merit - however the foot trip off the ball, getting black carded and conceding a penalty v louth is something he will need to park Royalio11 (Meath) - Posts: 757 - 04/02/2017 22:32:34 1951947 Link 0 |
Andy McEntee said in his interview that Joes shot stoping would worry him but yet he's brought in because of his size and he's able to kick a ball out makes no sense there's club keepers out then way better then Joe and even Hannigan how Na fiannas Shane Geraghty isn't in there is baffling great shot stopper massive kick out and a big lad Meath909 (Meath) - Posts: 19 - 06/02/2017 11:31:21 1952631 Link 0 |
Have you asked Shane Geraghty whether he wants to be on the panel or not? Personally, I have no idea whether he does or not, but I wouldn't make the assumption that every club player wants to play county football. Plenty of lads are not able to, or just don't want to, give it the level of commitment that it takes.
