Well that was an absolutely terrible performance from Meath today. We made Kildare look like All-Ireland contenders at times. Maybe it wasnt all Micko's fault after sll, the players need to take a long hard look at themselves after this setback. Do you still see us competing in Division 1 after this performance RoyalDunne - its nigh time you took off thos green and gold cloured blinkers RoylerKing (Meath) - Posts: 809 - 05/02/2017 15:40:34 1952081 Link 8 |
One million percent trust in Andy mcentee, unlike mod I don't do excuses, Andy has a huge job in front of him, the years of damage and psychologcal scars are deep, and it will take Andy time to rectify them. I expect by end of next year we will where we want to be. I want to thank Andy who could have turned down this horrible job for taking it, he didn't have to and could have continued his position with St endas. But no he took the most poison chalice of them all. In Andy we trust. Hon the royal royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 05/02/2017 15:54:26 1952091 Link 1 |
Yes of course I do, and while this is a set back I'm a true supporter and will believe we will be promoted until it's mathematical impossible. On side note only 4 players looked good today O'Sullivan Meath best player , forde, Reilly and lenihan, all others had poor outing . think there will be changes lot of them before Derry game. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 05/02/2017 15:59:50 1952096 Link 0 |
What utter bullsh*t there are no psychological scars we're simply not good enough end of it was a handy excuse to blame the previous management for all that's wrong the real blame lies at the Co. Board for years of neglect I really hope the new manager succeeds but to think that he's going to fix everything is silly talk the team were at a fairly low ebb when MOD took over also it just shows the 6 nights a week training improved nothing we are miles off the top

Was at the game today. Probably the first time this team played together so have to take that into consideration .Andy can only do so much and he did ring in changes but no. 12 for them had a field day no matter who was on him no. 4 and no. 7 had the freedom to run up and down field and no one put a hand on them. We are week in fullback line men out in front easily turning there men never won a ball in the middle won no breaking ball and no quality full forward and no reliable free taker.biggy star man again o Sullivan wAs better going deep. Alot of work to be done staying in division 2 is no harm ontill team is settled we are not ready for division 1 yet. This is not based on today alone the last couple of years have proved this Andy is not going to change everthing over night and we don't have to many brilliant players to start with so not the end of the world but the start of a slow process that we must resign ourselfs to .fact is we will not be at the top table for a while yet but you have to start from some where. matthematx (Meath) - Posts: 177 - 05/02/2017 16:19:54 1952107 Link 0 |
Two horror shows in a row but the manager needs time ! Honestly I don't think any manager would win anything with this lot..Andy is a good manager but he will struggle I think !! grahamc9897 (Meath) - Posts: 1174 - 05/02/2017 16:20:13 1952108 Link 7 |
I was torn apart for saying similar and calling it as it is..we just have to accept the standard and level Meath are at. I'm quite disappointed about the manner of defeat today. Harder teams to come. Royalio11 (Meath) - Posts: 757 - 05/02/2017 16:21:47 1952109 Link 0 |

For me one of the most disappoint things today was the amount of times we'd eventually muster up a score after a hard build, only to concede another with 10-15 seconds at the other end. This happened multiple times today. Jinxie (Meath) - Posts: 6344 - 05/02/2017 16:37:56 1952127 Link 3 |
There is no manager capable of making us competitive. It's not a managerial problem its a players problem or lack of. Outplay today from start to finish. While Andy may get the best out of this squad eventually he can't do miracles. It's time people start concentrating on why were producing average footballers instead of blaming managers, it's what we've been doing since boylan.

I am fully behind Andy but he is far from perfect as are our players. I think the adulation towards Andy is what is riling some others on here. I thought that Andy was really slow to replace Shane. Andy also went out of his way to have a go at the referee at half time when he should have been concentrating on his half time talk & changes. Anyone watching would realise that the ref was not the reason we were behind. By having a go at the ref there was an implication that Andy felt it was the refs fault that we were being hammered. One incident with Cillian O'Sullivan not getting a free which was turned around for the second goal was all we could really blame the ref for. Keoghan was getting roasted but was showing some leadership going forward. He should have been swapped with Douglas or Power mid first half. Sheridan also was kept on way longer than he should have been. I am not trying to have a go at Andy, it's his first real test and he has the pedigree. But the blind adulation is a bit hard to take after that performance. oldsam_newsam (Meath) - Posts: 638 - 05/02/2017 16:50:33 1952138 Link 3 |
Extremely disappointed with today's result. Everything seemed to go right for Kildare and we did the simple things wrong time and time again. Donal keogan had an off day, I think we expect him to have a fantastic game every time he takes to the field. McGill I'm still unsure about got turned on too many times. Missed the Mickey Burke black card. Shane mcEntee is not up to standard imo. Was surprised to see him starting. The sooner Harnan is fit again he should slot into centre back. I felt Douglas was unlucky to be taken off at half time, kept fergal Conway scoreless and he was making great runs up along the sideline free from his man but got no ball. Midfield troubled. Out of the forwards just biggy and cillian impressed me but sometimes I felt cillian took the wrong option by not releasing the ball quicker and going for goal when it wasn't on. Take your points and the goals will come. Andy has a lot of work to do with this bunch of players. I hope this defeat doesn't set them back too much.
