maybe so and I'm hopeful because he is electric on the ball and really accurate at goal. Would be a nightmare to mark, only question mark at inter county level would be winning ball. Hopefully he gets on the 21's next year and we'll see

Well done to both teams on providing a really enjoyable game of football. Colmcilles just about deserved their win with their last 5/6 min blitz. Na fianna can be proud of their achievements too. Coming from a Div 2 two years ago to within a whisker of claiming their first Div1 minor title. Just shows the great development work done behind the scenes at the Enfield/Baconstown club. Wasn't he injured for much of 2015?

Disgrace a man gets a straight red in a game and only put in for two yellows and plays in final

It really makes a mockery of the discipline that is suppose to be central to underage football within the county; when a player gets a straight red card in a semi-final for striking (as witnessed by many) and doesn't get suspended because it is put down as two yellows. The fact that this suspension got brushed under the carpet should be a serious concern to parents and to all the referees who give their time to underage football because it seriously questions the integrity of the organisation they represent. I couldn't imagine that this would happen in rugby or any other sport where discipline is taken seriously. Thunderstruck (Meath) - Posts: 468 - 01/11/2016 16:03:23 1930698 Link 0 |
If true re red card being put in ad 2 yellows the the referee in this case should be called to account. Secondly how does a parish the size of bohermeen play in div 5 of the minor Championship ? Analyst (Meath) - Posts: 1467 - 01/11/2016 19:15:10 1930748 Link 4 |
St cuthberts has suffered as they've always been playing against sides that can't compete and are never given a chance in the higher divisions. In spring league playing Div 4 they finished 3 points below Ratoath for a semi-final spot with one game advantage and than to be relegated because Slane got a Meath minor player and Nobber joined with St Michaels seems very unfair to a team who would have fancied themselves for at least Div 4

I went to the Division 1 final and it was a very entertaining game with plenty of good footballers and football on show. Both Keepers were brilliant on the day with both pulling off serious saves. Na Fianna centre back Smullen no 6 was super along with the no 14 Walsh Thought na Fianna lacked a few players in the forwards to score and didn't pass the ball enough when in scoring positions. Full Back Devine tried hard but man of the match James Conlon was unmarkable and won the game for Cilles. Thought Na Fianna needed to cover the space on front of Conlon to cut out supply No 3 for Cilles when he came out midfield began to dominate and change the game. Definitely a good few players at County level minor next year from both sides. Not sure who is underage but both keepers , 5, 6, 7, and no 14 for na fianna . No 3 , 8 , 14 and 15 for cilles Overall a great game and great credit to all on showpiece occassion Bear10 (Meath) - Posts: 463 - 02/11/2016 14:23:01 1930918 Link 0 |
Pretty sure he lined out for Curraha in the div2/3 promotion relegation playoff the following week against Trim too. That was tasty enough by all accounts.

Can't wait for this game, two exceptional minor hurling teams. Trim are well balanced and only played in glimpses the first day round while Kildalkey may have missed their chance. Farrell on McNally and Cullen on Kelly is the deciding of this game. For me , Trim should win going away Meathgaalad (Meath) - Posts: 169 - 06/11/2016 12:13:46 1932021 Link 0 |
Well done Trim. Their big players stood up and though Kildalkey tried hard they never looked like they were going to get the goals they needed to get back into it.
