Provisional fixtures are out, presuming we still don't have floodlights at PT I suppose all our home games will be on Sundays. Thoughts?

Down v Meath February 25th
Meath v Galway March 5th
Cork v Meath March 19th
Meath v Fermanagh March 26th

Looking at the fixtures I'd be positive providing there is a marked improvement from the incoming management team and the players themselves. No reason why we shouldn't win our four home games. The away games to Down and Clare should be there for the taking also.

Possibility of promotion from this group but not getting to excited about it going on the last few years. For me promotion to division one in the coming year should be the number 1 priority.

True, all gone very quiet. Thought there was supposed to be a feasibility study for discussion at the July or August meeting of the County Board regarding development as a whole but didn't hear any word of it. Anyone else have any insight??

Yeah I agree with all that, it's a negotiable division with Cork away being the most difficult you would think. Crucially three of the first four games are at home so considerable hay would need to be made in those fixtures and Down away should yield a return too, sure it's great to be positive

Excellent to get 4 home games, one thing I noticed though is the first game is scheduled for a sat?
Anyways apart from cork away id be hopeful of winning the 4 home games and winning away to both Down and Clare.
A great chance for promotion, especially under new management.

And my positivity is back in bounds, some of those home games could have been lot worse, I wouldn't have fancied some of them away.
Some times you get the rub of the green, Meath haven't had that for a number of years, lets keep everyone fit , find a player or two and blitz this division.

Home game against Galway, away game to Cork will both be very difficult to win. Home games versus Kildare and Derry also very touch and go. In fact the team will really have to be on their A game in all games to get anything in the division next year. Of course I would be optimistic with Andy, Gerry etc in charge but if I was forced to bet on it I would say we will slightly miss promotion again next year though I hope i am wrong.

Love the optimism "Blitz", when was the last time Meath blitzed anyone?. Why is promotion to Division 1 a priority?, Tipp got to a semi final from Div 3, I would consider a good run in the championship as the priority, by that I mean competitive against the top tier team at the very least.

Promotion a priority if we want to progress.

Only way to get a good run in championship is by been in div 1, Tipp were the exception not the norm.
We haven't blitzed anyone cause we have had awful managements. This year that has changed. Even with our sideline we showed flashes of brilliance. Trust me there will be no giving up of 7/8 point leads under Andy . Meath have the players to be in division 1 , now they have the manager to mould them into a decent football team.

Dont expect us to get anything in cork, but should have hammered Galway in league in their own ground, and look how they played v Tipp, while it wont be a gimmee (no games are anymore) id expect us to prevail v Galway in pt

div 1 brings bigger crowds and better chance of PT getting redeveloped

Getting into Div 1 just means that we may receive two good beating by the Dubs every year instead one!. Its by winning matches that we improve and that can happen in Div 2 just as well as Div 1 if we are good enough- some folk get easily carried away. What we need is players able to win matches and control the game when we are ahead. Being in Div 1 did very little for Roscommon, Cork, Monaghan or Down. It did little for Westmeath either.

Tis all about momentum.

First game crucial.

Get a win against Kildare and we start to build...

Team gets confident about management and crowd starts to get behind team again

Tis all about the momentum
