Bad form from county champions not to field

Simonstown asked co board to reschedule in light of upcoming Leinster game against Rhode. Co board refused and Simonstown conceded.
Co board just trying to tick boxes and run off competitions asap. Surely they would want to give teams the best possible chance in Leinster .
Trim in semi final and havnt plated a game yet???
Curragha , Kiltale all in same boat. Co board providing no support to Meath clubs with their endeavours in Leinster. Ashbourne playing U 21 Sunday , League final Tuesday, what was happening for past 12 months with large gaps in calendar and no games.
Why does club football 99.9% of all players suffer beacause of 15 lads togging out for county.
Needs to be seriously looked at to accommodate the 99.9%

Walk over does Trim no favours to be fair, although I reckon they'll beat Skryne

It's a bit ridiculous that the CB cannot accomodate county champions Simonstown, esp as they are representing the county.

Crazy decision by County Board to ask Simonstown to play an U21 match on the tuesday before they tog out and represent the county against Rhode. Total lack of support, especially when simonstown had offered alternative dates to CB. Do they have any cause to appeal ?

iF YOU THINK THINGS ARE BAD IN MEATH read the below

Kilcoo are to appeal the decision by Down county board to throw them out of the county's Division 1 league final to the Ulster Council.

The Magpies, who are preparing to face Maghery in the Ulster club SFC semi-final on Sunday, refused to fulfil last Thursday night's decider against Castlewellan amid concerns over player welfare. It was due to take place at the same time as their U21s were playing Downpatrick (Kilcoo won that encounter on a 2-8 to 1-6 scoreline) and just four days after the Down champions had come through a tough Ulster club SFC quarter-final against Donegal champions Glenswilly.

The club offered to play the league final next Tuesday night, but this was rejected by Down CCC. Kilcoo are also up in arms after their U21 championship quarter-final replay with Carryduff (the sides drew on Monday night) was fixed for midday on Sunday - two-and-a-half hours before the Ulster semi-final throws in.

Getting to the final stages of 21s now..
u21 final is next Sunday between Skryne and Donaghmore/Ashbourne..I'd have to pick D/A in that one, they'll have too much for Skryne I think
u21A semi finals are Wolfe Tones v St. Olivers, and Na Fianna v Killary Emmets..both games being played next weekend..I pick Wolf Tones and Killary Emmets.. Some great players on those teams that should carry them through
u21B semi final between Drumconrath/Meath Hill and Clann na nGael is next Saturday..hard to call that one..will be a close margin with the North Meath pipping it i think..
Oldcastle waiting in the other semi final to play either Moynalty or Dunderry..I think Moynalty will win by a decent margin but lose out to Oldcastle in the semi final
thoughts?

This sort of thing has happened many times in the past with teams being fixed to play (and playing ) one day before another match. The CB should have re-fixed as it would have made no difference to when the final was played- but then that is common sense, a very rare commodity these days. However Simonstown should have gone ahead and played the match as their Tullamaore engagement was a few days away. It is not matches in the main that causes the burnout, wear and tear of a player but some of what goes on as training.

In heavy conditions yesterday in Dunshaughlin, a very tired Don/Ash beat an even more tired Summerhill in the semi final of the U21 championship. Credit to Dunshaughlin for the condition of the ground even though the grass needed a cutting, but after all the rain, I'm sure it was impossible to put a machine out on the surface. The referee, well that's a different matter, lets just say he didn't have his finest hour!

I see good foresight used in fixing U21 matches for Saturday evening at same time as Rugby, that should keep lads interested

Why whose playing !!!!! Expect it to be a non event anyway with handy win for all blacks

to be honest I reckon lads rather play on Saturday night and hit the bright lights after than drag themselves out of bed for a Sunday morning game and maybe have to miss mass

Ashbourne hot favourites in repeat of last year when there was only a point in it.
Wolfe tones should come tru this weekend and look best but killary if they have full team should get to final
The B is tricky. Moynalty only scraped over Don/Ash B while dunderry had it handy still expect Moynalty to go another step. Meath hill drumcondra might get a shock but should be bit better than clan
