A lot of these posts criticising Louth's decision come across as entitled to me. Louth can choose to play their home games wherever they want, Inniskeen must meet whatever (loose) criteria the GAA have set for grounds. Worth noting it is double the capacity of Ardee at 6k

I'd argue playing this in Parnell or Croker wouldn't attract much more than a 6k crowd anyway. Only by playing it in Navan would the Inniskeen capacity be exceeded and Louth aren't going to give us home advantage

There was 8.5k at it in Parnell in 2016 and Louth are certainly better supported now than they were then. I didn't realise Inniskeen could hold 6/7k. Tickets probably won't go much further than the supporters who buy the 3 game pass. I just hope that every supporter who buys that pass can get in. Game not being shown on GAA Go either. LMFM will break their record for listeners :)

I would have expected pected about 12k if game had been held in Breffni.
Louth going well and Meath's first time in the group stages. Both targeting this game.

The gaa should admit their mistake and change the venue. This is an insult to the thousands of loyal fans for both counties, who won't get in. It's ridiculous.

Louth GAA twitter page put up last night that single tickets will be available to purchase, further details to follow when they are available

I think Louth should have the option to use Croke park if they want. As should all the other Leinster Counties if they want. As that would entail losing home advantage and they wanted to retain that maybe be open to asking down for the use of Pairc Esler. The wonderful Down GAA people are most helpful. Either way Louth should get support given the strong competition they get. Small County with 2 LOI teams.

I the GAA should be stepping in here and telling Louth your house is a shambles so we are sorting it for you. Should be in Croker as a double header or in Cavan or Clones.

Absolutely correct, and that's what Louth have done. Even in spite of their own fans, many of whom will also miss out.

1) They're doing their own fans out of being able to attend the game
2) They're losing out on much needed revenue (God knows they need it for funding their new ground)

And all for what? To bring Meath to small ground Monaghan thinking it'll be an advantage to them?

You've said it perfectly there Jinxie...'In spite of their own fans'. There's nothing more a Louth fan loves more than spite.

No revenue lost to Louth, receipts go in to central GAA coffers
