McGill, lavin, Those I suppose would be what we could call the hard men on the panel, if I had a choice , I'd opt for menton to have a little word in his ear.

During the league he was one of our best forwards, and kicked around 10 points from play not to mention the number of frees he drew and assists he had.
He played at centre forward for a lot of games despite being picked in either a wing forward or corner forward position.
A few points of note which might be relevant to the game this weekend.
He was our best player in the league game v Donegal in BBofey scoring 3 from play and Donegal tried 3 different players on him who are regulars - ie Ryan McHugh.
He is very accurate at kicking from distance. He is very mobile and has a class jinx when on the run.
he got ten minutes v Carlow and immediately set up a goal chance only for Ryan to be called for a square ball.
not a criticism of BM, BB or KoS but it hink he gave us more on the 40 and HF line . And definately in ahead of subs like Tobin, Dardis, McGovern who are very limited with what they bring and Walsh who is completely unproven.
looks like he was going to be a real exciting prospect for the future and its strange he isnt getting a real go in the championship.
Brilliant to see Devine, Ryan and Conlon deservedly get their chance and take it. I think Campion got his in the league and was brilliant but for some reason isnt part of the plan now...
any ideas meath gaels.." My guess is that maybe there's a lot of competition at training and the management team are playing the most

Anyone else a little surprised about what red hot favorites Donegal are?
Haven't heard anyone in the media (bar the we are Meath and talk a good game podcasts) giving us any hope at all. In fact (as per usual this year!) there is little or no national coverage of this game, with all the GAA media barely mentioning it in their super8 previews as they believe it's such a foregone conclusion.
I think sure, Donegal have to be favorites. But to be making out like we have no chance is mad. I think we might just do it!

Tomas O Se not giving us a chance and Paddy Power offering 4/6 odds for us not to win a game in the Super 8s. Im not surprised by this and I wouldnt care too much because I think it suits us. As you said Donegal have to be favourites especially after dominating Tyrone and then the manner in which they put Cavan away so early in the Ulster final. For me theyve improved ten fold since we met them in the Division 2 final. It was only Murphy's third start of the year and he ran the show in Croke Park. Were going in the right direction too but I will agree with what O Se says this is a huge step up for Meath. We will need to tighten up at the back after conceding 1-13 from play against Clare. Im confident that we can step it up and produce a big performance in Ballybofey.

Lets wait and see.

He did a job on Gary Brennan last week. A different animal altogether though.
Murphy is probably most complete footballer around, in modern football. Can score, defend, tackle, high field, be cynical, tough, quick, lead from front, change course of matches, tactical... etc. Everything that makes quality.
But inevitably everyone is markable. I would alter beyween Cormac McGill when full forward, and Padraic Harnan when roaming.

If correct, and I'm not commenting on the type of injury (because I dont know what, if any, there was), but some guys lose confidence and form as a result of injuries so close to key matches. Maybe so in this case with Campion, and he has unfortunately slipped down the pecking order in the forward division.
Campion was, in my opinion, showing very good form going into Division 2 Final and had a good debut league. But didn't he lose his starting place for the trip to Croke Park? Again, and I'm only suggesting, that his confidence may have taken a hit, resulting as stated above.
Otherwise I'm only second guessing. I would like to see more of him as I think Campion et al is the future.

On Devine, he got concussed in the Challenge match against Roscommon and wasn't able to take an active part in the training camp in Cork.

In fairness they need to worry about us too, let's not forget we have some class operators also. Keegan, Harnan from half back, Menton from midfield and they didn't like our pace in the half forward line on previous outings either.
Can't wait for Sunday, hope the boys put in the performance they're capable of.......Hon the Royals!!!!
