Comer, Lyndsey

The business and sporting communities in Dunboyne and further afield were united in sadness following the untimely passing of Lyndsey Comer in August.

Lyndsey was the wife of Barry Comer, who has represented Meath at various levels as well as lining out for London in the Connacht SFC some years ago.

With St Peter's, Barry has attained numerous honours, 2002 being a particularly memorable year as he was part of the Meath minor team which contested Leinster and All Ireland finals as well as playing a pivotal role in his club's first ever annexation of the county MFC. Incidentally, younger brother Robbie was involved with the group who next took the Delaney Cup in 2014.

Luke Comer Snr is of course a globally successful businessman, transcending many sectors of society while his daughter Sandra is involved in the bloodstock industry overseas. Furthermore, Luke, through his businesses, has been a generous benefactor to many sports teams and events, most notably in a GAA context.

He has acted as the main sponsor to the Meath football teams in the recent past, having previously given his backing to several Dunboyne underage teams. Luke has also allowed several club teams use his all-weather training facilities.

Lyndsey Comer was a native of Clondalkin, Dublin and passed away peacefully on August 5th. She is survived by her husband Barry, children Lana and Brody, her parents Robert and Lily Cummins, sister Carrie, brother Robert, extended family and friends, to whom deepest sympathy is extended.
