From Legion Avenue, Dundalk, James Coburn passed away on November 13th, 2016 at the age of 92. He served Clan na Gael with distinction as both a player and selector and was also honorary club president. He represented Louth as a forward and served as selector on the Joe Ward Cup winning Clans team of 1959. He was on the club's building and management committees and became honorary president in 2001. One of eight siblings, James togged out for the Clans during the late '40s and '50s, winning a junior championship medal in '54 and Macardle Cups in 1947, '53 (as captain) and '54.
