'There are more questions than answers'

Colm Cooper is concerned about Kerry’s ‘lacklustre’ form heading into the All-Ireland SFC series.

The Kingdom defeated Clare 0-23 to 1-13 on Sunday to capture their 85th Munster title, but were far from their best.

“There's probably more questions than answers to be honest,” the legendary Kerry forward said on RTÉ.

“I think their form has been okay, nothing more than that. Last year, they came alive in the Munster final at the Gaelic Grounds but today it was a little lacklustre again. They missed a lot of goal chances and I think individually as players if you're looking at performances there wasn't a whole pile more than 7/10s.

“Kerry are building very, very slowly and my worry is that while they're in third gear at the moment, I'm not sure can they find an extra gear. We haven't seen it yet this year, maybe that's part of Jack O'Connor's plan. Maybe he feels he doesn't need to see it for another few weeks.”
