Dublin refusing to do one-on-one broadcast interviews - 6 Like(s)
First of all lads Tyrone have a completely different reason to avoid RTE so people comparing Dublin to Tyrone really need to get a grip. Gavin, Dublin GAA and Dublin fans can have no one else to blame but Connolly himself. The CCCC have found that Connolly breached the rules and has been punished accordingly. They also have stated that TSG or any of the pundits had no bearing on the outcome of their findings. Connolly has accepted his ban and Gavin has stated that too. Jim Gavin is completely in the wrong saying that Spillane was the reason that Connolly got suspended. No Jim, Diarmuid Connolly is the reason Connolly got suspended. Spillane just stated facts, the same way other pundits stated facts about Galvin, Keegan, Sheridan. Gavin and Dublin GAA are throwing the toys out of the pram. Finally Brolly was over the top again last night and he does it quite a bit (Cavanagh incident). He loves the attention he gets from it. Spillane, Brolly and Dolan probably all need to go from TSG in my opinion as they aren't up to the standard required.

Dublin V Carlow - 2 Like(s)
Hard luck to Carlow it was a great effort with regards to guts and intensity but they were never going to win this game unless they played with two forwards. Dubs done what they had to do with the help of the Fenton, Brogan and the ref. Connolly should have walked simple as, you can not put a hand on an official in the manner he did while being verbal and get away with it. Dublin had 3 soft frees. Mannion was barely touched and miss kicked so the ref gave a free for god knows what, then McCarthy over carried for the second one gets a big hit to his chest and a free in, finally Murphy was tackling Brogan instead of the ball but while he was tackling the man there was no free however when Murphy won the ball fairly he gives a free in yet there was a good few times Dublin players tackled the man and no free given for it. Fenton only came into the game when Murphy was sent off which was a harsh first yellow and his second one was as clear as day but Cooper should have also got a yellow for pulling his jersey multiple times. I think if Connolly walked and Murphy stayed on the field then it would have been a lot closer.

Well done to Crokes yesterday a great experienced display by them. Also well done to Darragh O Connell from Abbeydorney on his man of the match performance with the small ball. Based on the team selected for this evening it seems that we are going defensive and if I see the crap that we have played against Dublin the last few times then it's time for Fitz to walk at the end of the season barring he delivers Sam. I will however give Fitz the credit for blooding the new/younger lads such as Begley, Morley, Barry, Spillane, Savage, McCarthy, Shanahan and hopefully Murphy and White get a run out from Crokes. Finally there is a lot of lads playing tonight who need to stand up and be counted for, they have been there for the past 3/4 years and are now the experienced lads on the team. On another note I really hope Gooch gives it one last go because we don't have anyone like him in the team who can control the game and open teams up with kick passing and I feel that is something we are badly missing.

Dublin v Kerry - 1 Like(s)
Just back in the Kingdom and first off I am extremely disappointed it was a brilliant performance but we ran out of legs in the last 5 minutes. Well done to Dublin and best of luck in the final even though I would rather a Mayo win. I'll look at the game again tomorrow but it was incredible to watch up there it had everything. Its a real pity Donaghy went off injured because the Dublin full back line and Cluxton were dreading every ball going in there between Star, Gooch and Geaney. Gooch dragged Cian O Sullivan all around Croker today, poor Cian was chasing shadows and it was probably his best performance in a Kerry jersey since 2013 semi final. Geaney gave a master class in scoring and the amount of tracking back he done as well was huge probably my man of the match but he did run out of steam and thats why he was taken off. Kerry have really improved defensively O Mahony and Griffin were absolutely solid. Enright a bit lucky not see black it looked very similar to the Tipp player's last week. Moran had his best game in a couple of years but Maher was a good bit off the pace but still matched Fenton till he went off. McMahon and O Mahony was a clear shoulder to shoulder it was right in front of me. Kevin Mc's hit on Crowley also looked shoulder to shoulder but I will have to watch that back again because I wasn't at the best angle. But what annoyed me was the ref over ruling the umpire for a 45 after Kevin Mc's protests. The ref was too far away to have seen that how on earth could he have known if it was a 45. The umpire had a better view of it. I'm going to watch the game again so I will have a better opinion next week.

Looking at it from a club players perspective I hate it. When are we going to have time to play club and county championships down here. April to August is basically all county football week in week out now because of a condensed season and 2 extra games with this group stage for quarter finals. It's nice to see a bit of change however and hopefully it's the start of a massive overhaul.

I suppose with a few days to go I may as well chip in: Kelly , O'Beaglioch, Griffen, Enright Murphy, Crowley, Young Maher , Barry O Sullivan. M Geaney , Gooch , Sheehan, P Geaney , Star , Spillane. I think Fitz needs to give youth a chance. We've got nothing much to lose throwing these lads in at the deep end. Sexton for Clare played when he was 18 and is now starting to develop into a fine footballer. The goalkeeper is simple at this stage. If Maher isn't fit enough than I would go with Moran but we need someone to curve Brennan's influence because he is probably one of the best midfielders around at the moment. Clare have 2 forwards(Sexton and Tubridy) that on their day could do serious damage so we both of them will need to be marked very closely all day. I think our forwards will win this game because simply they are better and Clare don't have 6 unreal backs but if 2 or 3 of them are not on form it will be a really close game and that's were our bench is needed.

GPA club agenda - 1 Like(s)

Replying To realman2:  "Finally anyone who says the inter county players aren't looked after need to take their heads out of the sand because I know 10/11 different counties pay for their players travel expenses. I know of 4 counties who are all knocked out of the race for Sam that got a meal in a local hotel after every training since the national league. All county players have free access to a gym and pool. Some get jobs or scholarships because they play for their county. Read the article about Shane Enrights day on here and tell me how tough that is. They deserve all they get because of the time they give up but its about playing games and that is were the club players suffer. And in return what do they do? Just generate millions for GAA to pump into grass roots via gate receipts, sponsorship and TV deals. All down to their hard work. And you think they have it made because they get a dinner and a gym deal and might get a job. This is what I mean when I talk about the warped view of GAA supporters. Some posters don't seem to grasp that the intercounty game generates money that goes into the club game."
Clubs see very little of that money. Day to day running of clubs comes from gate receipts by the club, sponsorship by local people and businesses, and club events. Jerseys are sponsored by people or businesses. Club gear is either subsidised by somebody or the club players themselves pay for it. If a club is getting a grant off Croke Park they have to beg for it. Most club players don't get meals after training or free gym membership and certainly don't get a career or scholarship, we would be lucky to get a free pint in our local.

League 2017 - 1 Like(s)
From what I have seen this year this was the poorest we have been. Both players and management need to start answering the questions we have seen so far in this league campaign. Badly need a new keeper. Kelly/Kealy always make at least 1 or 2 stupid decisions per game whether it is a kickout or not dealing with a high ball. Some of our backs don't know how to tackle, others carry the ball into traffic and we then have a couple who look like they have ran a 10k after 20 minutes!! This comes down to players making poor decisions while management need a Cian O Neill type coach to work on our fitness and tackling!! Moran had a very good game today and showed what he is able to do at times we just need consistency from him. Barry needs a kick up the hole and should be willing to work a bit more without having to be roared and shouted at like today. Where do I start with our forwards? Barring Geaney and Donnchadh no one else has had two good games never mind putting two good games back to back. There is a serious shake up needed when the 21s come into the mix because the only place we are going quickly is backwards. As a team there in no leaders like the old days Morely has shown he has what it takes but this is only is second year. Geaney is doing it all by himself. Crowley, Moran, Griffin and Kealy have all been around the panel long enough to know that when the other team is having their purple patch that they need to get possession and slowed the game down and tire the other team out yet they can't do that. Gooch is an expert at it and I really hope he gives it another year because in 4 games this year we have needed a player like him to dictate the play in the last 10/15 mins. If I had a selection of everyone (21's, Crokes and Injuries) for the Tyrone game this is what I would love to try: Shane Murphy Ronan Shanahan, Jason Foley, Shane Enright Paul Murphy, Tadgh Morely, Tom O Sullivan Anthony Maher, Barry O Sullivan Sean O Shea, James O Donoghue, Donnchadh Walsh Colm Cooper, Paul Geaney, Jack Savage.

Congrats to Glenbeigh/Glencar a great result by them. They have a nice young team there so hopefully they'll be back in an intermediate final in a couple of years!!

Replying To The_Fridge:  "Great it is been streamed live, good game so far. Just wondering, they said Glencar beat Dr Crokes in the Kerry league. Why were they playing a senior club? Darren O'Sullivan looks lack he has picked up a injury."
They play in Division 1 of the county league with along with most of the senior clubs and a couple of intermediate sides.

Great teams from 1987-2010 - 1 Like(s)
1. Tyrone from 03 to 08 shades it for me. 2. Kerry 00s. Played in 8 All Irelands including 6 in a row and won 5 and done the back to back just a pity we never beat Tyrone. 3. Meath 87 to 91. Played in 4 All Irelands in 5 years and won 2 in a row. 4. Meath 96 to 01. Played in 3 and won 2 especially in 96 with a bunch of kids reminded me of 75 with Kerry. Seriously under achieved and non of todays Meath team would get near either starting 15. 5. Down 91 to 94. Played some brilliant football. 5. Galway. 98 to 01 Same as Down. 6. Armagh. 00s. Should of had another All Ireland or 2 but Kerry and Tyrone dominated the 00s. And I couldn't be bothered doing anymore.
