Replying To perfect10:  "find it cringey, and think commemorative jerseys of people from the past are nonsense, modern ireland doesnt need more dwelling on history"
Aye right, let's be the only nation/sport to forget our past! Our past, good and bad, made us what we are today.

Is Dublin's Success False, Tarnished And Bought? - 7 Like(s)
Mckenna job is to look for clicks as to boost advertising. In effect he is a car salesman. Not just on this subject but on everything. 1. Dublin weren't simply given money. They put a plan in place asked for the money to IMPLEMENT and executed it perfectly! Huge huge work done. 2. Everyone talks about the coaches in Dublin club's but remember before they get one they must fund 50% of the costs yourselves. They Are not free. 3. The GAA gave out 40M last year Dublin got the most games development money but not the most money in total! Funny no one talks about the other grants, capital and otherwise, given to Counties. 4. Dublin generate more than the 2M they get so to call this 2M 'financial doping is simply away to seek attention because otherwise more in-depth analysis has to be done and this is beyond the likes of attention seekers like McKenna. 5. 5 and 6 year olds are not regiatered players but huge resources (financial and human) are put in them in Dublin so why when you calculate the per head cost of games development money they are not included? 6. Finally people talk about facilities. Do you realise the All-Ireland champions Cuala have no pitch? They have to use council pitches and then rent Bray Emmets ground for Senior training and marches as often the council pitches grass is too long etc. Their main ground.in Shankill has no dressing rooms!! Or the efforts St. Finbarrs in Cabra have done to keep hurling alive on the basis of no facilities years ago but pure pride in the game and hard work. McKenna could and would never talk about this as it's not with this you get clicks. There is no such thing as a level playing field, Leitrim will not win an All-Ireland, sadly, even if you pump in millions. When people throw out population numbers they forget that though Dublin have one third of the population not even one third of that one third is even interested in the GAA. So for me the arguments are all wrong. The issue we should only be worried is getting as many young kids as possible playing and then keeping them playing beyond 18. And how you do that In Dublin, Cork or Belfast Cities is not the same as in the country village. So we cannot can have the same everywhere but plans based on horse for courses? And it is not just money. And those knocking Dublin and what the.GAA local and national did there should be complementing them. Unless you prefer to see the state of our native games in Dublin as it.is in Belfast?

"Fresh TV Rights Deal" - 6 Like(s)
You cannot see every game even today!!!!! So what is the issue???? A lot GAA supporters are total sheep. Press go negative and they follow as everything in the press must be so. The GAA is superbly run, and the constant knocking of officials is largely by people who won't put time in themselves. And these 'officials'/'suits' etc are largely elected officials. So instead of moaning get off you ar** and go get elected like these people and then run it your way. I am happy the Uachtarán is pressurising RTE. Why do you people want them to sign everything over to RTE?? Oh and by the way, all those lovely facilities around the countries do not grow on trees but are massive investments funded by revenues generated by the GAA. The GAA make a few bob and you knock knock knock. Money made is ploughed back into the clubs, compare that to FAI, IRFU, IOC etc.

Mayo Ladies Walk Out - 6 Like(s)
I think egos are involved....and I wonder if the 'greatest' is behind this. I say it has to be egos or otherwise all players would have walked from these 'unsafe conditions.

Replying To Pinkie:  "I would love to see the GAA give 5 euro of each ticket yesterday towards this fund. Pressure should be put on them to do so."
Pinkie, nice sentiment, he was a great Gael but if they give 400K€ plus then were does it stop? Who they give too? Who not? Who decides. Honestly they cannot.

Dublin's Success Not Down To Money - GAA President - 5 Like(s)

Replying To keithlemon:  "How does DCU's facilities compare with that of the centres of excellence in other parts of the country? Better or worse?"
Facilities wise Dublin GAA is behind many counties. Especially at club level. Many Dublin clubs, if not most do not have their own ground. Cannot afford it.

All Ireland Replay Profits - 5 Like(s)

Replying To CHAMPS:  "Hi all just as a note to thanks JP Mc Manus for his donation to all the clubs in Ireland ( €100,000 per county) last year. To mark this can the GAA do the same from the All Ireland football final reply. By giving (€60,000) per county to go to the clubs. If we ask the question where does all the GAA profits go we are told the it goes to county development and county teams. Show the clubs respect and give them what they deserve. Comment if you agree."
Stupid thread. Over 80% is ploughed into way or the other in the game. Give it a rest. We have to knock the GAA over everything!

Who Deserves To Be All-Star Goalkeeper For 2018? - 5 Like(s)
Funny when Cluxton was taking free kicks the abuse he got. Even people talking about banning keepers taking free. Now Beggan is doing it is a wonderful thing and he should get an All-star for it.

I would like to thank Dublin GAA on behalf of the wider GAA community. Not only do they provide the key engine for the financing of the GAA now they knock all other sports off the top page and give the GAA publicity during the off season. All hail the Dubs!

Of course it was Tyrone's fault......Storm Ciara can be laid at their door as well.....Tyrone are the GAAs bogie men........kerrymen have nightmares about these guys

Dublin Getting 2 Home Games In The Super 8s. Fair Or Unfair? - 5 Like(s)

Replying To KingdomBoy1:  "Well said muck, you're 100% correct about that."
And we get to the nuts and bolts of this whole thing. It sticks in peoples throats the Dublin success (never an issue before 2011 surprisingly enough) and therefore, especially those of Kerry descent, people need some way of venting their anti-Dublin feelings but couch behind 'it's not about Dublin' or 'note Dublin's fault'. As Jim Mc said it is all about this Dublin teams legacy and finding a way to tarnish it.

Replying To westkerry:  "Deliberate contact with a vulnerable area like the eye is abhorrent and reprehensible and you loose all high moral ground when you justified it. Shows the type of person you are."
Kerry can take no moral high ground niether after the cynicism shown last Sunday, few dives and play acting....yet you someone high think you are above a Dublin or Tyrone. Dublin and Tyrone make no bones about how they play, Kerry still seem to have this Spillane mentality that you are sshow how gaurdians of the games.

Tomorrow becomes the player to play most championship matches ever, and I would not put it past him to go on and hit 100. Only player to captain and All-Ireland winning three times! Refused to play for the club first when they started brining in outsiders and dropped to the 2nd team. And if you read John Leonard's book you would understand the mentality he has. 2011 and that free!!! The following will bring the wrath of many outside Dublin, but he has to be one of the greatest players ever, if not the greatest. Has any one player ever had such an impact on the game? He single handily changed the whole tactics and strategy of the game. No one player has ever done that. One day he will have to retire (probably when he is 50!!!) and the hole he is going to leave is imagineable. Bravo on the 89th!!!

U20 Football Championship 2020 - 4 Like(s)

Replying To KingdomBoy1:  "It's nuts taking our game to crokepark and the other game as well, I suppose the gaa are hoping they'll get a massive dublin support but I can't see more than 20,000 at it. Galway V kerry should be on in limerick or Ennis. And Tyrone V dublin in Breffni Park."
Oh give it a rest, they know damn well they will not get a massive or big crowd. And 20k would be a big crowd. Everything the GAA do you have people moaning and groaning.....................that's why they are right to ignore every forum and social media outlet
