Another great performance in difficult conditions with every player doing his bit... It just proves my point from 12/18 months back that we have loads of talented players when they are given license to express themselves... We are now scoreing at will since the half time break in Navan and it's a joy to watch them... nowlet's push on and beat Tyrone in the Final which is well within this teams capabilities on current form... Well done all

Well I predicted that Cavan would get ten points after the Derry match and they proved me right. I also said they might get promotion with that number of points well again spot on. It's a brilliant results and yes congratulations to everyone involved.
We questioned Tom Reilly's decision to give such a long contract to Mr Hyland well I have to take my hat off to you Tom for I thought that length of a contract was too much. Now I expect that we have got promotion to Division 1 which was the main target I suppose an extension has to be offered to Mr Hyland. Well done to all. Sadly my beloved Cork got relegated but just a small blip, it shows you how difficult Division 1 is. Anyway lets hope now for a run for the Anglo Celt Trophy. To all genuine Cavan Supporters you waited a long time for this day now enjoy it.

Regarding the ladies match unfortunately it rained all night and the pitch would not have taken the two matches. Those that were at the match will have noticed how it tore up. My apologies to the Cavan girls but I did try my best but unfortunately the weather beat me. Well done on your win today.

well done Cavan today ,we got a good result against good opposition ,we started off good and once we got ahead we were determined not to loose our lead ,I thought Givney was first class winning everything that went into him and could pin down a full forward position ,Keating made up from last time around taking his scores well and when back was to goal he done the right thing and laid the ball off and I was glad to see that ,Galway pushed us hard in the 2nd half and were unlucky not to score another goal ,but we done what we had to do to keep them out in bad conditions when handling was very difficult , all in all it was a great result and everyone played there hearts out and proved we can do the job even without the in form johnston ,but would like to see him out against Tyrone ,well done onwards and upwards !

Well done, good game of football. Galway showed moments of class with Shane Walsh, but Cavan deserving winners.

A very strong panel now which is needed to compete with the top teams l The likes of Mcdermott and James Mcenroe to come back too.

We got good coverage tonight on the Alliance League Sunday. I have to agree with Aaron Kernan when he says our full forwards were a bit static at times. They will learn though and I expect improvement . Feels good to be in a final.

Have to admit that this was a very pleasant surprise, so I'm chewing away on my humble pie. Congrats to the players and mgnt on a magnificent achievement.

Not sure where the change in strategy came from though. Some posters here are giving McHale the credit, but I don't see it. Against Tyrone, we were defensive, and again against Derry. There was a glimpse of a new way during the first half in Navan, but we just weren't putting the chances away. The second half was a revelation and the commitment to attack when in possession has remained since.

What I think I saw today was a commitment from Terry himself to the new way at a critical time in today's game. During the third quarter some of the players seem to have decided on the field to defend the lead and we started to withdraw into the familiar slow holding possession game and the back passing. Galway sensed it and were pushing forward and finding gaps. The reaction from our line was interesting and refreshing. Chief protagonist Martin Reilly was replaced and the subs seemed all to be instructed to keep pushing forward. This stifled the Galway search for another goal and resulted in several promising moves and good scores for us.

I hope that this strategy continues, can't see why not. It has led us to Div 1 after all. The negative game might have had us relegated if it was persisted with. We look a completely different team now and it's a good time to be a Cavan supporter again. I hope Martin Reilly and to a lesser extent Cian Mackey migrate over to the new way, because they still have a tendency to hold things up too much.

I actually expected this strategic change to happen next year under a new manager, because I felt the talent was there and all it needed was the right man to encourage it. So I have to confess to being a bit confused right now about Terry. Where has this come from and can he sustain it? I can't see why this couldn't have been done after the Kerry match in Croke Park and we might have been spared some tough times. It's in his hands now to see if he can keep us on this forward trajectory and let the players continue to express themselves.

Congrats to the Players, management and everyone involved with the senior team. Desperately proud and to be honest a little emotional to be there today.

It was great to hear that Breifne roar again at the end of the game.

Everyone played their heart out and when players started to visibly tire management were quick to bring on big time replacements. I thought Murray, Keating and Mackey in particular steadied the ship and we deservedly pushed on. Also good to see Rory Dunne get some decent game time. Hope Jack Brady was ok, Didn't see what happened.

Got good comments from RTE this evening. Dessie Dolan is a class act.

Having been a harsh critic of last years management I have to congratulate the current management on an excellent league campaign and now promotion to division one. A great panel of players finally rewarded for hard work. The football is excitin to watch and now a trip to Croker. Listenin to Terry Hylands interview, sounds like he is not goin for a day out but plans to win. It will be a great game but this panel of players and the new look decisive management can deliver. Well done.

It would be great to go into the championship with silverware. Not the be all and end all, but the League final defeat against Roscommon in 2014 knocked the confidence a little before the Championship. Though it seems a happier camp now.
