As for Ramor and the Gaels on the downward slide, you having a laugh, Ramor were senior champions in 2021, and a number of underage successes in the last few years. The Gaels are doing trojan work at underage, u15 championship winners last year, they'll be in the running for the minor championship this year and no doubt will get to a semi final of the senior championship." I went in to watch this Cavan Gaels team who you say will reach the semifinals of the Championship. Killygarry were very poor in the first half but the Gaels really showed their age in the second half. They don't have any inside forwards to compete with the bigger teams and will need these U15's from last year to develop very quickly or they will find themselves in Intermediate in the very near future. well the master got over the student last night. maybe a blessing jayo didnt get the manager role as his charges had little in the second half. killygarry have a habit of finishing striong and did a second half number on the gaels. less said about the first half the better. kickouts were frustrating in first half and got little change out of them but that game was won on the side line. killygarry subs came on at the right time and imapcted the game with young keaney lighting her up. jayos subs were too little too late I felt but killygarry defense kept great pressure on shooters. gaels still have some good players but they were wasteful in that second half. mckiernan is a big loss to them. alot of frustrated and angrey people leaving the stands !! but I will not bother gloating. actions speak louder than words. two out of two lad and just the four point margin. train just rolling out of the platform. Credit where credit is due to be fair. Gaels should have been out of sight at half time had it not been for some wasteful shooting. The keeper is an issue for Killygarry and his kickouts cost them a lot of scores, they need to develop a kick out strategy fairly quickly, but to be fair to him, the outfield players didnt really provide him with many options. There were a couple of turning points in the second half, Gaels were 4 pts up and Gaels gave an awful pass which was intercepted by Killygarry and they pulled it back to 3. They then pushed up on the Gaels kickout and started to win the some 50/50 balls, and the introduction of young Keaney I think caught the Gaels by surprise, his goal was fantastically taken for a lad so young and Killygarry were on top and never looked back. A lot of their bigger players started to play in the 2nd half and the Gaels had no answer. You'd have to wonder what the Gaels management team were at, substitutions were made too late, Corey from Monaghan too, they looked void of any ideas and the noticeable thing was that Killygarry seemed to have embedded many more younger players in their squad than the Gaels. cavanblueman (Cavan) - Posts: 636 - 25/08/2023 12:37:54 2502210 Link

I'm sure the Gaels are disappointed having been beaten by a division two side! and lets face it, the Gaels should've been out of reach by half time. Doubt the gaels are that disappointed, kind of use to it by now as they're a shadow of the successful gaels teams of the PAST. You say the gaels should have been out of reach at half time, if they were any good they would've been. Remember it's a Marathon not a sprint to half time. Just like horse racing all the best finish strong. Hard to predict how either team will do next in a blind draw. If you head into the bookies I'm sure they will have no problem taking your bet. They've been to the well and came up short lately. yes you may be right about the next too games but there has been no regeneration fort a good few years now in the team. Unfortunately when realism kicks in, Killygarry are a million miles away from winning a senior championship final, but maybe talk to your next opponents and they might share a tip or two!
