Good win for Kingscourt, they're not the team a flaky Gaels team needed at the QF stage.

killlygarry lads are going to get walloped here if Gowna come out in the second half., these slow starts are not good for the ticker."
We are very slow to start these games, I woulda thought Gowna had too much experience to let us back in but our lads deserve huge credit, shoulda won in the end. Young Keaney is a game changer off that bench

Replying To blueskies:  "I was just listening back to the podcast from over the week, Fitzpatrick's argument about the "supercharged" junior is just getting ridiculous.
Cavan clubs record in Ulster junior has probably been the one facet of Cavan football that has worked well over the last few years. I don't think he will be satisfied until it goes back to days of a rubbish Drung or a Kildallon winning it followed up by a 10 point hammering in Ulster .
The county board made that decision years ago to try improve club football , let's not forget how bad it was. There was one Year in particular I think it was 2016. Cornafean won junior and arva won intermediate , both teams then got 15 point hammerings in Ulster.
I wouldn't mind but it's not even the case that our junior teams are dominating outside of Cavan. Drumlane lost last years final and I remember denn had a ding dong battle against a Derry team. We are now competing with the Derry Tyrone and Monaghan clubs.
Its up the other teams in the junior division to try set structures and get better across the board like what arva have done ."
Sure, why not put a few senior teams down to intermediate and junior so, sure that'll improve things even more.

Gaels seem hell bent on self-destruction. They have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory on about 3 occasions in this championship so far. Dont know what backchat was going on but ref moved about 2 or 3 missable frees forward to imminently more score-able positions and then all the petulant and reckless challenges that went in which meant the yellows were mounting and accumulating and becoming reds. Incredible stuff. Kingscourt did not play well by any means yet they still won by 4. They got 2 black cards themselves and also a few yellows but these were smartly distributed.

only got the second half but seemed like the gaels had planned to get in kingscourt faces. I am not sure that it suits them to go after a team physically. it seemed to mainfest itself into late tackles and giving backchat to the referee. genuinely struggling to remember a gaels team in such disarray come full time,. you always play to your strengths if you can at all.

Did Crosserlough get caught napping or are they not the world beaters we've been led to believe?

6 semi finals (a lot of good games in those) and relegation play-offs last few weekends and next to no chat here at all...

Bit of both. Probably haven't been tested all year and no idea how to chase a game when they needed to, and James Smith missing and not fully fit when he did came on was a difference to the way they play.

James would have had a massive impact for sure as Ryan Donohoe bossed the midfield and Crosserloughs kick outs, are these two our future county midfield?
Kingscourt have been fairly consistent all year but maybe just doing enough to get past teams. Gowna surely heavy odds on?

Yes very surprised with how little talk there was about any of the games. Didnt get to see any myself.
Views on the final? Gowna reigning champions would be favourites

Yeah in hindsight they were probably overrated. They have alot of players with senior inter county experience, although it's hard to know how many are actually of intercounty standard outside McVeety, Lynch and Smith who was injured. Let's hope it's the last time we see a top forward like McVeety playing as a defender.

Powerful stuff from Gowna. They obliterated Crosserlough at midfield and after a shaky start, they dominated this game. It's a nice way for Kingscourt to be heading into a county final but it's hard to know how it will go. You would imagine they will be better set up than both Killygarry and Crosserlough were. If you were Kingscourt surely the first thing you would do is sacrifice two players to stick to Cian and Tiernan Madden.

Was just checking and couldn't believe that in Cavan football you can have a team ie Arva play Div 1 football but play junior championship … that's crazy ? How does your relegations work?

Couple of years ago they relegated 2, in the hope that there'd always be a team of a higher level than junior winning junior so they'd be stronger in ulster. There's always 2 "intermediate" teams at junior level, one that was left over from the double relegation and the previous relegated team. Denn won junior 2 years ago and in intermediate final this year.

Two interesting finals. You could argue the four teams are of similar enough standard. I like the way Knockbride play They have some brilliant footballers and have defended well. Will be tough for them but I think this game could be tight. Arva have unfinished business. Either way the loser of this game will be strong favourites for next year. My prediction Arva 0-16 Knockbride 1-12

Denn are similar to Knockbride and will be dangerous to Ballyhaise. I like alot of Denn's players. I think Ben County could go under the radar and end up as a game changer, a very dangerous forward. I think Ballyhaise have the advantage on physicality which is still such an important of football. Nonetheless Denn have shown tremendous work ethic in previous games. Will Ballyhaise be able wipe the memories of previous losses? Denn themselves lost 4 finals between 96 and 02 before finally winning it in 2003. My prediction Ballyhaise 1-14 Denn 2-09

Yeah Arva and Ballyhaise comfortable winners. Was hoping for close contests but never materialised. Are we going to get another one sided final tomorrow?
My prediction Gowna 1-13 Kingscourt 1-13
