Poacher relishing Tyrone test

Carlow coach Steven Poacher

Carlow coach Steven Poacher believes that facing Tyrone in the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers will be a 'brilliant' experience for the players.

Saturday's clash between the counties will be an historic first as they have never met in championship football before.

Carlow football is at an all time high and the fact that a Division One side like Tyrone are coming to Netwatch Cullen Park has whetted the appetites of their supporters even more.

"It's a novelty for Carlow people," Poacher told the Carlow Nationalist. "Carlow have never played Tyrone before so they will be there to see Tyrone as much as they will be there to support Carlow.

"It is brilliant for our players to gain the experience against a team who are for me, one of the top four sides in the country."
