No Palestinian Flags - 8 Like(s)

Replying To royaldunne:  "I'm getting sick to death of the Palestinian flags been brought to gaa games. I don't care if you agree with it or not. Gaa is not the place for displaying political messages, particularly not from another region (that has questionable human rights issues of its own people) . I'm not pro Israel either. I just want to go to a game and the only flags that should be allowed are those of the counties participating. David gaugh wasn't allowed to wear a bracelet, micky harte got hell over his stance on referendum. I ask all stewards to confiscate these flags on entrance or immediately when spotted. The gaa is not here for anyone's political views. Join a political party and stop going to games if that's all you go for."
What about Cork and the confederate flags, you started any threads on that? Maybe these folk who are living in squalor , have few facilities and have access to water and electricity for short periods during the day appreciate folks making an effort to highlight their plight. They are squeezed into a tiny area of their own land, one taken by Israel illegally. They are attacked almost daily by one of the best equipped armies on the planet, their plight is usually ignored by the right wing media, only mentioned when a poorly made mortar is fired towards Israel. Do you even know the history of the GAA???

Hill 16, no,no,no.... - 7 Like(s)
Was looking to buy Hill tickets for my 2 teen sons for the double header in Croke Park on Saturday July 29th but yet again the GAA aren't opening the Hill for non Dublin games. It's going to cost me €100 now for a family of four plus all other expenses, don't get me wrong delighted to be going to see Armagh in HQ , but will ultimately be an expensive day. Is there a rule that the Hill is only opened to the Dub's until semi final stages??

And breathe. What a game gutted we didnt finish it out but I really hope Monaghan go on and win Ulster now, they deserve it after the week theyve had. We have a good young team coming through, hopefully a few lessons learnt today.

Casement Park - 5 Like(s)

Replying To Ulsterman:  "I believe that first and foremost culturally, politically and symbolically the new stadium must be in Belfast. Unionism has Windsor and Ravenhill. The Irish Nationalist community must be equally represented in the city. There are 2 motorways leading into Belfast, access in and out of big games should be easier maybe apart from Donegal folk. Facilities wise the new Casement will be able to cater better for the fans, players and media needs (when Covid hopefully passes). Undoubtedly eventually concerts and other events will be held in the new ground which will bring income into Ulster too. Having said all this there ARE GAA people within the province who are inherently and vehemently anti Belfast. They come out with dismissive and arrogant bulls**t about the city and Antrim 'not being Gaelic Games places'. Finally I get well pi**ed off listening to the anti Belfast crowd GAA crowd within Ulster who have flocked into Belfast for decades for their well paid public sector and teaching jobs YET who aren't prepared to give Belfast anything back."
I think you should probably change your name to Belfastman, Ulster doesn't seem to be your thing. I was one of those folk who 'flocked' into Belfast to get work, I was brought up in Portadown and the chances of work in town was basically zero. I worked in Belfast for 20 years, paying for travel, lunches, socialising etc but I'm still not sure what i owe Belfast. A lot of those 'culchies' had no choice but to travel to Belfast yet you think we owe you something, what exactly? As I've said already I'm pleased approval has finally been given, just enjoy it fella.

Garvaghy Road Flag At Roscommon V Ardmagh Game At Athletic Grounds - 2 Like(s)
OP has to be at the wind up but ill bite anyway. Im from the G Road and i work with a lot of folk from town who wouldnt necessarily be big GAA fans but they have seen the flag and think its quite humourous and a bit of fun, not one of them has ever even suggested it was in anyway derogatory. That flag has gone all over Ireland and Armagh fans, and other fans can testify to that and yet you are the first person Tom to take umbrage, strange.
