Offaly football kingpins Rhode have announced the appointment of Jack Cooney and Declan Gorman as their new joint-managers.

The pair served as trainer and selector respectively under outgoing manager Paschal Kellaghan, who has joined the Tipperary management set-up. Gorman is a former Rhode player, while Cooney was a regular at midfield for Westmeath during the 1990s. He served as a selector under Paidi O Se when the Lake County won the Leinster SFC title in 2004 and was also assistant to Rory Gallagher in Donegal up until this year.

As well as training Rhode this year, he managed his native Coralstown/Kinnegad to a Westmeath SFC semi-final against eventual champions St. Loman's.
