Cork midfielder Tom Kenny has backed Diarmuid O'Sullivan to silence his critics in Sunday's All-Ireland hurling semi-final against Kilkenny.
The 'Rock' was substituted in Cork's last two games against Galway and Clare, but has held his place at full back despite speculation to the contrary.
Kenny said: "He has given great service to Cork over the last number of years.
"You could say he has had one or two bad games over five or six years and that is not a bad record in fairness to him. He always does well in Dublin so I have every faith in him that come Sunday, he will perform."
The Grenagh clubman has cited Donal Og Cusack's sending off just before half-time in the qualifier clash with Galway as the turning point in Cork's season.
"It kind of galvanised us. The fact we won the game given the circumstances lifted everyone even though it was looking bleak again in the next game against Clare.
"At the moment, you could put your finger on that but hopefully in six or eight weeks time, we can look back and say more."
