O'Donovan Rossa junior hurlers resume competitive action this Friday night against St. James at 7.15pm in Ballinacarriga in the quarter-final stages of the South West junior A hurling championship. Skibb who defeated Kilbree in their opening championship game back in May, by four points received a bye straight to the quarter-final stages have been experiencing mixed form of late and will need to produce a strong performance as they face a formidable and potent test against a strong St. James outfit. The Skibb minor championship hurling game against Kilbree which was scheduled for this Thursday evening has been deferred to a later date. The junior footballers have a league game against Ilen Rovers scheduled for next Tuesday evening, August 12, in Rath at 7.30pm. The minor footballers proposed challenge game against Glanmire last Friday evening was cancelled due to inclement weather conditions. Best wishes are extended to Conor McCarthy who is included in the Cork football panel for this Sunday's quarter-final clash against Kildare at Croke Park. The jackpot of e2,750 was won for a second time in quick succession by Jerry McCarthy, from Leap. The draw took place in the Corner Bar last Monday night. The numbers drawn were 3, 7, 13 and 19. The sellers prize winner was Brendan Houlihan. Next week's lotto draw will be held Caroline's Bar and will have a jackpot of e2,000. John Bohane, Secretary O'Donovan Rossa.
