Cork v Kildare
August 05, 2008
CORK v KILDARE
This will be the first championship clash between the counties since the 1956 All-Ireland semi-final which Cork won by 0-9 to 0-5.
The only other championship meeting between the counties was in 1928 when Kildare won a semi-final by 3-7 to 0-2 en route to what was their last All-Ireland success.
Cork reached the quarter-finals directly as Munster champions while Kildare enjoyed their best ever run in the qualifiers, winning three rounds v Cavan, Limerick and Fermanagh to book a quarter-final place for the first time.
