8pm, RTÉ 2
On the Road to Croker on Thursday night, Des Cahill speaks to Clare hurlers, Tony Carmody and Tony Griffin about Clare's year in the hurling championship. GAA discipline has taken centre stage several times this year and Des will be delving into the topic tonight and getting the opinions of former Sligo player and GPA officer Dara McGarty, former Mayo and Roscommon manager John Maughan and journalist Christy O'Connor.
Following his retirement from inter-county football Darren Fay will be chatting to Des about a long and varied career with the Royals while Sligo's Eamonn O'Hara and Dennis Glennon from Westmeath will be in studio to discuss the Footballer Qualifiers this weekend.
It's a replay of the 1996 hurling All-Ireland in Master Marksmen this week as Limerick's Gary Kirby looks to even up the score against Wexford's Tom Dempsey and in the football Cork legend Larry Tompkins take's on Offaly's Colm Quinn. While things have been heating up in the Championship the same can't be said for the weather so The Road to Croker went in search of some sun in Brittany and a little bit of beach football.
