Everard, Michael

August 30, 2007
On August 15th, Michael (Mick) Everard, Carrigtowhill, Co. Cork and formerly of Longorchard, Templetuohy was called to his eternal reward following a brief illness. He was 55 and the oldest of the family of five of the late Jack and Siobhan Everard. Although living in Cork for 37 years his allegiance still lay with the premier county and he took great delight in Tipp's recent surprise victory over the "Rebels". He also inherited the family's great interest in greyhound racing and always made the journey back to Templetouhy for the annual coursing meets. As a greyhound trainer he sent out many graded and sweepstake winners. He will be best remembered for the victory of his late father Jack's greyhound "My Last Hope" in the Oaks final at Harold's Cross in 1982. The removal was from O'Farrell's Funeral Home, Midleton to Carrigtowhill Church. Following Concelebrated Requiem Mass of which his brother Fr. Eugene P.P Templemore was principal celebrant, his remains were laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. Deepest sympathy to his wife Maura, daughters Claire and Michelle, son John, brothers Paddy and Fr. Eugene, sisters Frances and Angela and the extended Everard family. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.
