Cork GAA is mourning the death of former St. Finbarr's and county hurling star Tony O'Shaughnessy, who died over the weekend. O'Shaughnessy lined out alongside John Lyons and Gerry O'Riordan in the full back line when Cork won three All-Irelands in-a-row between 1952 and '54. When the Rebels regained the Liam McCarthy Cup after a 12-year lapse in 1966, O'Shaughnessy was one of the selectors. The deceased also enjoyed a successful club career, captaining St. Finbarr's to a famous victory over Glen Rovers in the 1955 county senior hurling final, and he also won a county football championship with the southside club in '56. He is survived by his wife Kay and children Brendan, Michael, Sr Emer, Ger and Clare. Tweet
