Cork junior goalkeeper in Munster team
October 13, 2006
Cork junior hurling goalkeeper Anthony Nash is a surprise inclusion in the Munster hurling team to face Connacht in Sunday's Inter-provincial hurling semi-final at Cusack Park in Ennis.
He is only one of two players from provincial champions Cork on the team. John Gardiner is named at centre back. Tipperary brothers Paul and Eoin Kelly are included at midfield and left corner forward respectively. Clare have five players included - Gerry O'Grady, Alan Markham, Diarmuid McMahon, Niall Gilligan and Tony Carmody.
Club commitments have ruled a number of players out, while others have declined the opportunity to represent their province after a long season. The team is managed by Jerry O'Sullivan, father of Cork full back Diarmuid.
