Cathal Naughton Cork and Newtownshandrum
Newtownshandrum's Cathal Naughton will make his competitive debut for Cork when they face Clare in Sunday's NHL Division 1A clash at Pairc Ui Rinn.
Naughton gets his chance at right corner forward owing to an injury to Neil Ronan, who scored 0-10 in the facile win over Wexford last weekend. Pat Mulcahy, who will captain the All-Ireland champions for the first time, returns at right corner back to the exclusion of Wayne Sherlock, with Darren McSweeney replacing Brian Murphy at left corner back.
Mulcahy said he is privileged to be Cork's new captain. "It's a massive honour to be Cork captain. I've been involved with Cork since 1997, so it's my 10th year, and it's a huge privilege to be captain," the Newtownshandrum player said.
