The club has a senior hurling and a junior football team COUNTY: Cork HONOURS: The editor has to take over hear as Brian is far too modest a lad to talk about his own accomplishment s- Amazingly Brian Corcoran has played for the Cork minor hurlers for the past four years. Twice the Rebels made it to All-Ireland final day, only for Kilkenny to dash their hopes on each occasion. In 1988 Brian, as a mere under 15, lined out at midfield and wore the No 6 jersey in 1990, when the young Cats triumphed after a replay in Thurles. Also Brian Corcoran played a lead role from the full back position in Cork's minor football final victory over Mayo on Sunday, 15th September last. Nor was this his first year with the footballers. Brian came on as a sub (corner forward) in the Munster minor final of '89 and was centre half forward the following summer at Pairc Ui Chaoimh. Kerry won both games so that football medal was not alone his first of major importance but came after an extraordinary innings in the county minor jersey PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT: Cork RTC - I am doing a course on computers FAVOURITE POSITION: Centre half forward WHICH GAME DO YOU PREFER THE MOST: It has to be hurling FAVOURITE GROUNDS: Croke Park when it's full is a marvellous place. Also Pairc Ui Chaoimh and Semple Stadium TOUGHEST OPPONENT: They all are SPORTING AMBITION: To win an All-Ireland senior hurling medal DO YOU PLAY ANY OTHER SPORTS: A small bit of golf FAMOUS RELATIONS: My grandfather Bill Corcoran was an All-Ireland champion runner while my brother John has played hurling and football at minor and Under 21 level with the county, and won an All-IReland Under 21 medal in 1988 BOYHOOD HEROES: Reading books and listening to people talk about him made Christy Ring God in my eyes when I was growing up. Then there was John Fenton, Jimmy Barry Murphy and in football Mickey Sheehy and John Egan FAVOURITE PLAYER AT PRESENT: Stephen O'Brien in football and Tony Sullivan in hurling BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON CAREER: In my club we had about 10 great underage coaches and it would be unfair to single any of these men out BEST GAME SEEN: 1990 All-Ireland hurling final between Cork and Galway and the Cork v Mayo football final in 1989 BEST GAME PLAYED IN : The drawn All-Ireland minor hurling final with Kilkenny in 1990 and the Mayo game on Sunday week last TIP FOR THE FUTURE: Barry Egan from the Delaneys club.
