The appearance of a Confederate flag at Croke Park yesterday has angered many people.
Despite numerous calls for Cork supporters to stop bringing the flag to games, particularly in the wake of the latest events in the US, at least one was spotted in the crowd of over 72,000. The controversy comes after the same banner was raised in Virginia by white supremacists as they protested against plans to remove a statue of Confederate general Robert E Lee, leading to riots and a state of emergency in Charlottesville.
Cork GAA fans are a fecking disgrace to keep flying Confederate flag. #Wankers
