Poor support doesn't concern Counihan

Cork's Colm O'Neill celebrates
Conor Counihan made light of Cork's paltry support at yesterday's Allianz Football League final.
The Rebels had by far the smallest support of the four competing counties in the 22,827 attendance as they became only the third county to win three successive league titles.
"I'd hate to see it if we were unsuccessful!" quipped the Cork manager, who revealed how his players had taken inspiration from a message they had received from Joanne O'Riordan, the Millstreet teenager born without limps who addressed a UN gathering in New York last week.
"Sure look, we've a small group of people - they're the important people to us. Like, Joanne O'Riordan sent us a text before the game today. It doesn't matter if it's five or 50, we're doing it for those people and doing it for the team themselves. That's always been the way. That's life."
Counihan will release his players back to their clubs for the next couple of weeks before knuckling down to the task of beating either Kerry or Tipperary in the Munster SFC semi-final on June 10.
"The boys will go back to their clubs for the next week or two and we'll come back focused on June 10 and that's our next big challenge," he continued.
"It's important to enjoy occasions like today. For Cork, national titles don't come that often so we're pleased to have three-in-a-row."
