Munster club IHC: Dwyer double inspires Ballymartle

November 22, 2010
Dan Dwyer was the toast of Ballymartle after his brace of first half goals helped the Cork outfit to a comfortable victory over Borrisokane in yesterday's AIB Munster club IHC final at the Gaelic Grounds.

Ballymartle (Cork) 2-14
Borrisokane (Tipperary) 0-8

Dwyer's goals in the 14th and 22nd minutes helped Ballymartle to a commanding 2-8 to 0-1 interval lead, and there was no way back for their Tipperary opponents after that. The wind-assisted Cork champions had opened up a 0-4 to 0-1 lead before Dwyer ran onto a long clearance out of defence to score his first goal.

Borrisokane came more into the game in the second half, but they left themselves with too much to do, despite points from substitutes Shane Dooley and Brian Davis.
