CCCC to decide on colour clash
August 30, 2010

Marty Clarke in the Down colours and Graham Canty in the Cork colours.
The CCCC will meet later today to decide what colours Cork and Down will wear in next month's All-Ireland football final.
It will be the first time since the famous 1982 final between Offaly and Kerry that both the finalists will be forced to wear alternative strips. When Down and Cork met in the 1994 All-Ireland semi-final, Down wore a gold and black strip, while Cork played in white jerseys.
But when the counties clashed in last year's All-Ireland under 21 final at Portlaoise, Cork wore their traditional red strip with Down forced to change to their alternative black and gold strip.
Meath wore a gold jersey against Mayo in the replayed 1996 All-Ireland final, which is the last occasion that a team in the final has worn a change of strip. On three occasions when Kerry and Mayo met in finals recently - 1997, 2004, '06 - Croke Park were happy to let both counties wear their traditional green strip despite the clash of colours.
