Morgan fancies Mournemen

Billy Morgan expects Down to provide the opposition for Cork in next month's All-Ireland football final.

The former Cork All-Ireland winning manager and captain said: "Out of the quarter-final winners, Kildare were the most impressive.

"Down weren't that far behind them. Going on performance you'd pick Kildare but traditionally Down are a team that when they come to Croke Park they seem to be better. It will be very close, but I'd tip Down to just get over the line."

Despite having had an involvement with Cork's three All-Ireland winning teams going back to 1973 as a player and manager, the Nemo Rangers clubman insists he doesn't miss the scene.

"I don't miss it, to be quite honest. I would be going home on a Tuesday night, it might be lashing rain, a Champions League match on the television and I'd be saying, 'Thanks be to God, I don't have training'.

"But I have to admit, when the summer came and the championship started, I missed it a little bit."
