Shields impressed by Dubs

August 22, 2010
Cork full back Michael Shields admits that he was hugely impressed by Dublin's performance in All-Ireland SFC quarter-final against Tyrone.

The Dubs gained huge respect when they defeated the Ulster kingpins last time out in what Alan Brogan described as the biggest win for the county since the All-Ireland final success of 1995.

Shields was impressed by the Dubs work rate that day and he knows that he will have to be in top form to keep the excellent Eoghan O'Gara quiet this afternoon.

"I was massively impressed with them," admitted Shields. "They get a lot of stick with their game plan and I'd compliment Pat Gilroy for sticking with it. Even when you play them in the league, you can sense a small bit of a buzz but playing them today will be different.

"It's something that we are looking forward too though. Dublin don't have an abundance of experience in playing in an All-Ireland final. They usually play in front of a sell-out crowd so they will definitely have that experience."
