Saturday 21st August 2010 (both matches live on TG4)

TG4 Senior Championship - Quarter Finals (extra time will be played if necessary)

Monaghan v Laois, Banagher (Offaly), 12.30, (MJ O'Keeffe)
Laois bounced back in superb fashion from their Leinster final loss to Dublin by beating Kildare by 8 points in Mullingar in Round 2 of the Qualifiers. Tracey Lawlor scored 2-4 in that game and has certainly been the form player for Joe Higgins' team. Ulster champions Monaghan have had a very solid year to date. They made it to the League semi final earlier this year and were certainly impressive in Ulster beating Armagh with relative ease in the Final. They will be wary of the threat posed by Laois and will be mindful that they only drew with them in the League up in Iniskeen. But with players like Cathriona McConnell and Ciara McAnespie playing exceptionally well, you would expect them to lead Monaghan into the semi finals.
MONAGHAN: L. Martin, G. McNally, Y. Connell (capt.), C. Reilly, L. Connolly, I. Kearns, A. McAnespie, S. Courtney, F. Courtney, E. McCarron, M. Woods, L. McEneaney, C. McAnespie, C. McConnell, T. McNally.
LAOIS: C. Dollard, G. Dunne, L. Muckian, A. Quigley, A. Taylor, P. Fogarty, M. McEvoy, A. O'Loughlin, T. Lawlor, M. Kirwan, N. Kirwan, A. Kehoe, A. Casey (capt.), G. Weston, M. Dunne.

Cork v Tyrone, Banagher (Offaly), 2.15, (D McEnery)
Can anyone stop Cork? Probably not. But the team best placed to cause an upset at this stage of the Championship is Tyrone. They have been in unstoppable form tearing through both Leitrim and Sligo to date and in Cathy Donnelly and Gemma Begley, they have two of the Championship's leading scorers. Cork are unable to start All-Star defender Angela Walsh due to a slight knock but otherwise are at full strength and are even able to call upon the services of Amy O'Shea from the bench. It is undoubtedly a formidable task that awaits Tyrone and while they won't be found wanting, Cork to advance to the semi finals.
CORK: E. Harte, A. Barrett, R. Buckley (capt.), L. Barrett, D. O Reilly, B. Stack, G. O Flynn, J. Murphy, N. Kelly, N. Cleary, C. O Sullivan, M. Kelly, M. O Connor, V. Mulcahy, R. Buckley
TYRONE: S. Lynch, E. Teague, S. McLaughlin (capt), R. Rafferty, M. Donnelly, M. Kelly, L. Donnelly, S. Quinn, S. Donnelly, C. Donnelly, G. Begley, A. O'Kane, C. McGahan, S. Connolly, J. Donnelly
