Wallis keeps Saffrons guessing
August 18, 2010
Jerry Wallis still hasn't decided if he will be committing to Antrim for another year.
The former Cork All-Ireland winning trainer made the long commute to the Glens from his Midleton base this year, but his future has been up in the air since Antrim's defeat to the Rebels in the All-Ireland SHC quarter-final last month.
Wallis' main focus at the moment is on coaching the Midleton hurlers who defeated Na Piarsaigh in the Cork SHC last weekend. He will also train the Antrim under 21s tonight ahead of their All-Ireland semi-final against Tipperary in Tullamore on Saturday.
"At this moment in time, I haven't confirmed anything and I won't for another couple of weeks," he said in the Irish News.
"I will certainly be at the under 21 match on Saturday. Then, within a week, the selectors, Dinny (Cahill) and the county executive will meet and that's when I'll decide whether I'm staying or going."
