Fitzgerald appointed Cork under 21 boss

August 19, 2009

Cork's Ger Fitzgerald
Ger Fitzgerald has been appointed Cork under 21 hurling manager for 2010. The Midleton clubman, who won All-Ireland medals as a player in 1986 and '90, succeeds John Considine in the role. Considine had a brief tenure as Cork senior manager this year before Denis Walsh's appointment towards the end of the National League. Fitzgerald, who had been part of Gerald McCarthy's backroom team with the fledgling Cork senior squad at the beginning of the year, will be assisted by John Mortell, who was also a member of that management set-up.
