The O'Donovan Rossa senior footballers face a crucial tie this Sunday
afternoon when they play Ilen Rovers in a relegation play-off semi-
final clash at Moneyvolihane, Castlehaven, at 3.30pm.
Alan Foley and Flor Crowley were in action on the Carbery senior
hurling team that narrowly lost to Carrigdhoun in a replayed
championship encounter played in Enniskeane last Sunday evening. Alan
stated in goal whilst Flor was selected at right half back. Kevin
Cotter was also a member of the Carbery panel.
Conor McCarthy was a member of the Cork senior football panel which
defeated Kerry in a replayed Munster football semi-final encounter
played at P·irc UÌ Chaoimh last Saturday afternoon.
The minors footballers resume league action when they travel to
Blackpool, next Thursday evening, June 25, to play St. Nickís. This
game is scheduled to start at 7.30pm. The minor footballers have two
more league games before July 16.
The junior footballers continued their preparations for their
forthcoming champinship campaign with two league games pencilled in
for next week. The first tie is provisionally scheduled for Wednesday
evening at home to Bantry whilst on the Saturday, they play
Newcestown. The draws for the third round of the junior football and
hurling championships will be made in Enniskeane, this Friday evening
at 9.15pm.
A lotto meeting will be held in the pavilion this Thursday evening,
June 18, at 8pm. This will be followed by a general meeting for all
committee members at 9pm.
There was no winner of the lotto draw which took place in Baby
Hannahís last Monday night. The numbers drawn were 4, 12, 15 and 16.
The consolation prize winner was Lee Cahalane. Next weekís lotto draw
will be held in The Fairfield Bar and will have a jackpot of e6,000.
