FOOTBALL SEMI-FINAL DAY IN ULSTER AND CONNACHT
Limerick and Cork have become the first counties to reach a GAA provincial football final in the 2009 campaign, having booked a place in Munster's big day on July 5, and next weekend Connacht and Ulster will each decide one of their finalists.
Casement Park will be the focal point for Ulster interest next Sunday when All- Ireland champions Tyrone face Derry. Both have already made an impressive start to the campaign, with Tyrone beating Armagh and Derry accounting for Monaghan.
Meanwhile in Castlebar, Mayo and Roscommon clash to decide who will play Galway or Sligo in the Connacht final on July 19.
DERRY v TYRONE
Will all the Ulster titles this decade be won by Armagh and Tyrone? If so it will be the first time since the 1960s, when Down and Cavan shared all the titles, that two counties enjoyed such a monopoly. 2008 champions, Armagh, who also won in 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006 are out of this year's race but Tyrone who triumphed in 2001-2003 and 2007 are still very much in contention. Derry, who last won the Ulster title in 1998, are bidding to reach the final for the first time since 2000. They easily beat Tyrone in their last championship clash in 2006.
