Consistency the key for Tally

Down manager Paddy Tally believes that the most consistent sides in FL3 will gain promotion.

Cork have been the pacesetters so far, but there are many twists and turns left in this campaign yet, according to the Down manager who is preparing his side for a clash at home to Longford this Saturday evening.

Tally pointed to their display over Derry as the one where they produced hunger and desire to gain a win and he stressed to the Longford Leader that they must continue to do that if they are to stay in the hunt for promotion.

“To do that you have to have cohesion and be able to take your chances. We showed against Derry in particular that there is a great spirit in the side and a better strength in depth,” said Tally.

“We need to make the most of our possession and keep mistakes to a minimum. I think results to date have shown that teams are on a par with each other to some extent and, while Cork are at the top of the table having won their three games to date, there are other sides in there, including Longford and ourselves, who are very keen to overhaul them.”
