Speculation is rife in Clare that long-time goalkeeper Davy Fitzgerald is on the cusp of breaking his ties with the Banner County hurlers. Rumours are circulating within the county that Fitzgerald is deeply unhappy with certain aspects of the county set-up and is currently considering his position. Much of the speculation surrounds reports that Fitzgerald and team manager Tony Considine have had a difference of opinion but neither man has gone public on whether there is any truth in the reports.
