The Late Bridget Scanlan The death occurred of Bridget Scanlan (nee Donnelly) Maddens Terrace, Clarecastle, at Limerick Regional Hospital. Bridie as she was known, was a native of Clarecastle. She was 84 years. Bridie was well loved by all the people she met during her life, a staunch supporter of Clarecastle GAA as most of her sons played hurling and football with the Magpies, as so her grandchildren. Her funeral took place to St. Peter and Paul's Church, Clarecastle, the chief celebrant of her Mass was Fr. Brady and he was joined by Fr. McGovern and Fr. Carey. Burial took place in Clarehill Cemetery. Bridie is survived by her remaining sons T.J., John, Christy, Willie, Colum, Joseph, Peter, Anthony, Edward and her daughters Mary and Rose, sons-in-law John and Michael, daughters-in-law Mary, Anne, Theresa Breege, Mary, Freda and grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends. 26th February 2006
