Baker delighted to return

Ollie Baker
Former Clare hurler Ollie Baker has admitted that he is delighted with the prospect of his new role as selector with the Banner for the coming year.
Baker has surprised many by joining the Clare management team as it was believed that he was about to join the Westmeath hurlers, however a change in his job made him decide otherwise.
"When the opportunity came to get involved. I was delighted to accept," said Baker. "I am glad to have the chance of offering something.
"The aim is to progress from last year when Clare lost by a point to Cork in the All-Ireland semi-final. We want to progress to the final and win it."
Baker has been recently promoted to a Garda Sergeant and moved to Thurles from Ballinasloe, which prompted his decision to turn down Westmeath's offer.
"Yes, I was asked to get involved and I indicated an interest but it was dependent on my work. We only had preliminary talks and my work commitments have changed."
