NHL format tweaked for 2012

The proposal for Divisions 1A and 1B in next year's Allianz HL have been retained with the minor change that winners of 1B now get the chance to participate in the semi-finals.
The option of returning to an eight team Division 1 has been ignored with the top hurling counties agreeing to the new proposal.
Under the new format the top two teams in Division 1B will playoff to determine the side that proceeds to the semi-final against the top side in Division 1A. The second and third placed sides in Division 1A will contest the other semi-final.
Division 1A - Kilkenny, Dublin, Waterford, Tipperary, Galway, Cork
Division 1B - Wexford, Offaly, Limerick, Clare, Laois, Antrim
Top Two Teams in Division 1B contest Division 1B Final. Winners are promoted.
Bottom two teams in each Division contest relegation play off and the losing team is relegated.
Division 1 Semi-Finals
Top Team Division 1A v Winner of Division 1B Final
Second Team Divison 1A v Third team Division 1A
Division 2A - Down, Carlow, Kerry, Westmeath, Wicklow, Derry
Division 2B - London, Kildare, Meath, Armagh, Mayo, Roscommon
Promotion/Relegation: Top two teams contest Final. Winners are promoted.
Bottom two teams in each Division contest Relegation Play Off and the losing team is relegated.
Allianz Hurling League Táin DivisionThis will be played off on a separate basis until an overall review in 2013.
Section A - Louth, Fingal, Donegal, Sligo, Monaghan, Tyrone
Top two teams contest the Final. Bottom teams contest Relegation Play Off and the losing team Is relegated.
Section B - Fermanagh, Longford, Leitrim and Warwickshire*
Top two teams contest the Final - Winners promoted to Section A
