Clare '92 side reunite for "125" celebrations
July 17, 2009
The Clare side which won the county's last Munster SFC title in 1992 were together again last weekend in a game which continued the 125th anniversary celebrations of the GAA.
With John Maughan back at the helm, Clare took on a Michael Cusacks All-Star Selection in Carron on Friday, July 10th.
Seamus Clancy, the only Clare footballer ever to win an All-Star, was joined in the Banner side by a host of former stars, including captain Francis McInerney, Noel Roche and Martin Daly.
The Cusacks All-Star side saw former Banner hurling stars such as Colin Lynch and Frank Lohan, while the former Kerry star and Clare senior manager John Kennedy was arguably the game's most impressive performer.
RTE commentator Marty Morrissey was the master of ceremonies on the night, delivery his inimitable commentary style over the loud-speaker system throughout.
