Ailish Considine was delighted to have the support of her mother Kay, sister Eimear (an Irish rugby international) and brother Keith at last Sunday's AFLW Grand Final.

The family members flew out to Australia to support the former Clare GAA dual star as she helped the Adelaide Crows to an emphatic 63-18 victory over Carlton Blues in front of a record attendance of 53,034 at the Adelaide Oval.

"It was pretty special to have them there and I actually spotted them during the game," Considine – who signed a professional rookie contract last September – told the Clare Champion.

"I could see the Irish flag in the stand at one stage in the second quarter, so that was a lovely moment. Knowing that they were there for it and that they were part of the occasion and the 53,000 people was brilliant. The crowd that was there for the game was just amazing.

"I didn't realise how many there actually were until it flashed up on the screen. That's pretty much capacity for the Adelaide Oval and the atmosphere was something I have never experienced before - it was insane."
