Clare manager Colm Collins believes it is time they beat their ‘bogey’ team Meath.

The sides will meet in Cusack Park, Ennis on Saturday week with Meath already having one foot in Division One for next year.

Clare are looking over their shoulders following last weekend’s defeat to second placed Fermanagh, as they are third from bottom, but on the same points as Tipperary and Cork, who currently reside in the relegation places.

A win over the Royals is imperative if Clare are to avoid the drop and although Collins admitted to the Clare Champion that it will be a tough match, he has full confidence in his charges.

“We have to look forward now to trying to get two points against Meath in Cusack Park and that’s it,” said Collins.

He added: “We have two games left and we have to go after both of them. Meath have been a bit of a bogey side, there’s no doubt about that, but it’s time to sort this one out now because that’s a game we need to win, no more about it.”
