Is it true our lads were thumped 1-17 to 8 by Kerry?

Yes however you made 11 changes from 13 point win against Meath.

And if they were not given a rest there would be lads on whining about "burn out".

Off topic the games are not a problem with burn out, it's the amount of training that's taking place is causing the biggest problem.

The Championship is the big one - this tournament helps in the preparation . Lots of different lads need to be given a run ! Not much point having development squads and big panels if you're going to leave lads on the bench . They'd be better off sitting at home .
Can't believe this even has to be explained .

When we win the Hastings Cup posters will say "great competition, great preparation for the C/ship".
When we exit early they say" we were only trying lads out".
Some lads can make a positive out of anything on here.

The Hastings Cup is a great competition and is great preparation for the Championship . It's a bonus if you win it as it shows you have great depth in your squad . But it's not the be all and end all , Championship is . Hastings Cup has to be played with Championship in mind and getting 20 plus lads up to speed with real playing time under their belts . No spin in that Slasher !!

Nail on head. Should be a good game between us tomorrow a defeat for either side would mean a early exit from the hasting cup.

Roscommon won Connacht Minor in 2012, so should be decent.

Bad result against Roscommon today. Anyone at it? On paper, it looked like a second string team with the exception of 3-4 players!

We have plenty of the 2012 minors on panel and plenty of 2013 minors also who only lost narrowly to Mayo and they went on to win the All Ireland. Good contest today far better use to us moving forward than the Meath game last weekend.

I think that interview with Ronan Carolan says it all about the team. When you change 11 players each game you're looking at developing a panel not at winning the Hastings Cup. That's the right way to go in my opinion. It's not long ago since we were all complaining about good young players not getting game time because certain known players always got first preference. You can't say that any more. OK time will tell how good the championship team is but I agree wholeheartedly with the policy.

Good to see a few different lads getting a run out, St.Joes (Arva,Killashandra,Drumlane) where playing yesterday in belfast in the u-21's and some of them players who played the first game can be counted out also.
