Another tame early exit for the Gaels in Ulster, shame that Kingscourt didn't get the rub of the green in the county because I feel they would have done better in Ulster

Hmm, alright the Gaels didn't play their usual offensive game in the 1st half but the referee was the deciding factor in this game.

The 1st score of the second half for slaughneil (home advantage) was actually wide by at least 2 feet although the umpire waved it. Even the linesman on th eopen terrace side who had a better view than either of the umpires or the refereee as he was right behind the flight of the ball could see that. He went to the referee, who over-ruled him. If that stood, it would have been a draw when Johnston's final kick was been taken. With less pressure, he possibly would have pointed and won the game.

Anyway, they gave a much better account of themselves in the 2nd half.

Tell ya one thing they'd want to be putting free buses on if they get there next year !

I believe you know which kick-out i mean. The old saying is very true - "what goes around comes around "

Tomsmith here

Now that the dust has settled and the Gaels have another year behind it is with deep regret that I have to say that the standard of football in Cavan is poor.
All be it we are the best club in Cavan but I have to say that with a heavy heart.
Perhaps if more or better competition was in the County the eventual winner may go further in Ulster.
But well done to the Gaels and I do hope that 2015 sees them go further along with the other representatives
